Failure rate of newer xbox's?

I was similar mate, no idea why!

I think i was more excited to see what it had become, more than getting it to play with... since i had borrowed my fathers 360 lol!

I just hope that it will see me through until the next xbox comes out. It will be out of warranty soon.

I thought the warranty would have been re-started, as its essentiaally a repair that something could still go wrong with!!

Because they are a bunch of morons when it comes to hardware design.

Look at Sony. Machine is one younger by a yr and they've managed to come out with a slim with internal power supply. MS are still sucking their thumbs on the RROD problem.

I think it's embarrasing for a company of that magnitude.

So i finally have it back. It is indeed an Opus with a manufacture date of 20/08/2009. Seems to run slightly quieter so far.

Just because it was seriously delayed in being released doesn't make it a younger console.

360 was released early to beat the PS3s intended release, which was itself delay with manufacturing problems. They are essentially the same 'age'

I would suggest both systems where in the design stage the same length of time before release
