I'm normally a bit suspicious about dodgy ripoff products, especially when it comes to chocolate bars. Sainsburys in particular make far inferior own-brand versions of the real thing but I have to say the Mister Choc "Peanut-Choco" from Lidl is a fine substitution for a Snickers.

Gets a thumbs up from me.

Any other good ones out there?

Not really fake anything, but the Choco-Banana things (chocolate covered foamish banaanas) from Lidls taste like hot sex mixed with 30 flaming orgasms! :p (Good in other words ;) )

Almost everything from Lidl rocks! I only ever shop there and the Coop and I agree that the Mister Choc bars are lush. I will have to pick up a pack (or three) as I am doing the grocery shopping in the marvelous Lidl tomorrow.

Lidl do loads of awesome chocolates, they do substitutes for minature heros which are fantastic! I echo the bounty comments

Everyone rips Lidl but it's a good place to shop.

The chocolate praline seashells are pretty good too. Come to think of it ALL the chocolate I've had from there has been good. Lebkuchen as well <3

my gf wont eat ANYTHING out of Lidl, i once brought a box of biscuits in and told here they were from Sainsburys, i think they where called 'Butter Keks' or something. once i told her they were from Lidl i thought she was going to boke Little Britian styleeeee

her sister is the same and wont eat their wanna-be mars bars

The best fake chocolate...you make it yourself ;) We where on an 8 hour bus ride with some friends, we had some chocolates, ate one, then filled it with ex-lax, closed it good enough to seem sealed, and gave it to a friend.

He didn't see the funny side of it :p

Lidl do some awesome chocolate :D

Mister choc certainly is lush..

The only thing i don't like from Lidl is a certain type of sausage they do, we have them once and it was like tropical fruit sausage.

But instead of 5 or 6 different fruits is was 5 or 6 different animals

Just goes to show (like someone already mentioned) how their stuff comes from the continent which is then repacked. 'Butter Keks' are a German thing. They are so tasty. :)

Asda's version is fantastc, I can't remember what they're called.

Mighty bars or something but they are an exact copy of Snickers.

One of my friends think she's some sort of Queen and will refuse to eat any food stuff from any shop other than Marks & Spencers or Waitrose.

I loved giving her a bowl of chocolates and saying they were Marks & Spencers's and then hearing her lecture us about how these chocs taste better than any crap that Tesco or Nettos make, and how quality costs a bit extra. Her face was priceless when I reveal they were from Lidls. :D

years ago, i went out with an irish girl, she was chuffed to find Tayto brand crisps in aldi when she came to stay, for cheapo money.

I much prefer Aldi's (or maybe Lidls ?) Titan bar to a Mars :)

One of each has opened up near us, and though some of there stuff really does suck, it has nice cheeses, cooked meats and general continental stuff etc :)
