I think I read on www.majornelson.com that it is enabled by default for all users over 18.

I think it's a silly idea, for the reason you have stated (privacy). Also what is the point of this unless they have expanded the amount of friends you can have on your list (which makes me think an increase in friends list is in the update as well).

As for a larger friends list, not really interested in that either. The current 100 limit is enough for me. I find (and others will probably agree) that you could have a full friends list and just not play with more than 1/3 of that list on a regular basis.
 
I seriously hope they have an option to switch that off since I get bugged enough by randoms as it is and I have no clue who they are so they just get rejected as I have done for the past 3 years that I've been using Xbox Live.

I think they said there was an option to turn it off :) *phew!*
 
Good news since I had enough of the constant Clan invites and Friend requests in Halo 2 for the past 2 years from all the random people you just beat, it gets damn annoying. I cant be dealing with god knows how many more years of that :p

Clan invites got absolutely ridiculous! There is rumors of clan invites on the dashboard too so I hope it wont be the same :p
 
Being able to sort friends into groups is what I want. One for OCUK people and one for "real life" people.
 
i thought i was the only one that was "meh" about this update, it seems thats not the case.

as Nokkon said, not a lot needs to be updated for me. DivX would be nice and multiple person chat would also be an addition but I don't want a web browser or more blades.

If they could fix the issue that has plagued every 360 I've had since launch across 3 different routers and two separate service providers please.

Thats the fault that signs the console out of xbox live when i start a game up meaning i have to quite the game, do a network test, then boot the game back up.

What did their technical support suggest?
 
I've had 2 differnt providers ( zen and sky ) two different routers ( netgear and speedtouch ) and three different xboxes since launch.
Ive never experianced that ?

If you can give some info regarding which router you have and which ports are forwarded, I am sure we can help sort it through the forums. (see my post in this thread re: which ports need forwarding etc).

Why post saying "dont use it then?" thats even more pointless! Plenty of people in this thread have said they wont use it so are you going to start on them too? Oh and I never play ANYONE on Halo 3 apparently :p I will leave you now to contemplate... lol
