Fallen Earth

this is just about done updating for me, just been going through some mmo's looking for one to play, WoW doesnt interest me, LOTRO was ok, im about level 20, but at the end of the trial, just about to try this, hope its decent as im really into the whole post apocalyptic thing atm.
 
hmm its not bad, definatly a more mature mmorpg with a very helpful and mature player base. It does feel clunky but its a nice change, enemy AI is really bad they just stand around waiting to get shot at but the overall atmosphere and game world is good.

I dont know if im too keen on the excessive crafting as im not that experienced with mmo's so find it a bit complicated, im stuck with some crappy slug gun and dont know how to craft a new better one, begginers horse sucks too :P
 
so this is a MMOFPS? or MMORPG?

what i mean is. how does it factor the shooting gameplay? Is it twitch or stats based?

Neocron if i remember was stats based.

And this is free to play as well?
 
Not free to play, no. You have to aim your weapons, but there are stats in the background deciding how much damage you do.
 
I started playing this at the weekend, after I originally bought it when it was on offer on Steam last year.

So far its pretty good, takes me back to when SWG was awesome. As others have said its pretty heavy on the crafting side of things and stopping to scavenge absolutely everything/running out of inventory space and/or your inventory getting too heavy can be quite tedious to start with but you soon learn to cope.

The combat system takes some getting used to, as does activating your abilities.

The game does have a certain charm though, there is something about the 'grittiness' and unfinished feel of it that makes it different and appealing...like cake mixture that’s left in the bowl.
