Fallout 3 - Difficult?

^ FWE is definitely not for wimps though;)

Can make the game a little bit too challenging early on. But i haven't used it much so i don't know how customizable it is?

You can change all aspects of it. If you don't like the amped up damage you can lower it back to normal or increase it even more if you want. You can change the carry weight system to be better or worse than vanilla (mostly its more dependant on strength). Sneak system, time scale, fast travel method, and so on and with the other mods installed you can change those too through it.

If it was truly compatible with FOOK2 then i would definitely use it, but unfortunatley it has to be one or the other.
It is a shame really, as there have been attempts by random users to create compatability patches for them, but the 2 authors don't seem to want to make them work together.

They seem to have learnt for New Vegas though, as **** is compatible with all other major overhauls

You've clearly never fought Deathclaw Matriarchs on a modded FO3. Those things can shrug off a Mini-nuke. Its funny when you fire 1 at it in VATS and it comes sprinting out of the mushroom cloud and claws your face off...

I'll raise you a Deathclaw Alpah!!

Just ran into an enclave landing strip with one of these and around 4 supermutant enforcer things and would have been killed in seconds if i didn't have a few followers with me

Just finished the main quest. EPIC!!!

Btw, I got the GOTY edition from Steam recently. How do I access the DLC? Is it already downloaded with the game? Steam says I don't have any?

Well guys I have just finished the main part of Fallout 3 and loved it! Now to find these side quests! Anyone know a real good place to start? Or possibly even a guide?

Im installing new vegas now on STEAM. Cant wait :)

After reading this thread I'm having another go, just reinstalling now. The first time around I managed to get to Megatron but after that just kept getting killed. So I moved onto another game. Previously I think I sank everything into lasers.

So just sink points into small guns? I don't want to cheat but it would be good to get over the initial bit where you are underpowered compared to a rat!

Wow!! i must have missed that:p

Anything except lasers tbh if you're playing vanilla.

Maybe, but later in the game you will find loads of energy weapons and be going up against power armour for which Energy Weapons are much better. If you haven't put points into them they won't seem that good, but they are much more effective against power armour

Run the game from steam, when the first flash screen pops up where you can change display settings etc, click on 'data' and then tick the box of the DLC you want (tick them all if you like). when you next start the game, within a couple of minutes the missions will start being added to your pip-boy. Most of them arrive by saying "investigate radio transmissions...." IMO the best DLC by far is point look-out.

yeah I'd agree - point lookout is fantastic and easily the longest of the lot. It's probably worth noting one of the DLCs only goes activate after the main quest (the ending was changed after they put in the DLC, the game continues now where it used to finish) so if you "awoke" after the main quest you're already on it.

I actually think that i enjoyed mothership Zeta the most tbh. I played through The Pitt the other day, but it is a little underwhelming in the end(i have played them before).
Point Lookout is good, especially if you get a few mods to add some quests to the area, otherwise it can be a litle bit bare

The Broken steel missions are the best dlc imo.

funny you should mention that, I felt slightly cheated because I thought I had 1 DLC left to play and it wasn't untill I watched a youtube video of it. realised I'd already played it.:p

Hey, I don't see that. Seems like I didn't download them, but I don't have the option to. Hmmm.

I can't remember if they are separate downloads or there is a single goty download but if they are, maybe you only downloaded the main game and have steam set to only list installed games?
