Fallout 3 GOTY and Windows 7

I bought Fallout 3 GOTY (retail copy). I run Windows 7 x64, and it keeps crashing to the desktop saying that it has stopped working.

Any idea's on how to fix this?

Have any mods etc installed?

No just a straight forward install of disc 1 and disc 2. I did right click and run as administrator to start the installers.

I noticed that in my Start menu, I don't have any shortcuts or references to Fallout 3 created after the installation? Also if I have a look at my Games for Windows, it's not showing up in there?

I had this problem recently, turned out it was one of my mods but there were lots of similar problems people experience.

Try running it under compatability mode for XP sp 3. Also make sure you have the latest GFWL installed.

I had a problem with Fallout 3 GOTY, and it was a conflict with FFDShow:
Add Fallout 3 to FFDShow exception list
