Fallout 3 Mods

Anyone know why my game could be crashing constantly?

I installed the Fellout and NMCs Texture Pack. Followed the instructions and getting an ok framerate, yet the game keeps crashing. Even crashed as soon as I clicked on it in Steam today.

Any ideas?
 
Might wanna try verifying integrity or plain reinstalling and remodding from scratch. It might be known for being unstable but its not THAT unstable...
 
I use Fellout, the mods that work with Fellout and the 2.67gig NMC texture mod with mine, looks awesome
 
Did you have to do anything to get the Fellout mod and NMC texture mod (full) working together? Or should they just work? Is there any specific order to install them? I think I installed the texture mod first.

Also I'm getting solid 60fps with everything up full and the mods installed but for some reason at certain parts it turns into a slide show. Even though the fps is still around 60? This is usually when it crashes.

The only info I can find about the crashes is that it could be to do with FFd show but on my version of FFD show it is already set to not run with Fallout.exe, so cant be that.

Way to miss the point of the game there, Mark! :p

As said, there has been no real manufacturing for a century. All items in game are either relics that have been found or items bodged together. I like the look of them all. It wouldn't feel right if they were all shiny and new!

Yeah I get that now I've played it :p. Although they would look better if they were higher res.

Gah, just wish it would stop crashing so I could enjoy it more. Have to keep spamming quicksave all the time :(.

I found that a combination of 2 things stopped this happening, firstly using FOMM and creating a merged patch properly at the end of the mods (can't remember how to do this but the info will be on the nexus website), and more imporantly I ran my GPU @ stock- even a mild OC significantly increased crashing.

Edit- also use the small combo mods to get certain modsworking properly together
 
Thanks, I'll have a look on Nexus, but I'm useless with this sort of thing.

My GTX280 is running stock at the moment so it cant be that. I have clocked my Q6600 to 3.2 but its completely stable. Played lots of games for hours at a time with 0 problems.

I did read something on Nexus about a mod that increases the ram the game uses or something. Could this be what I need?
 
Under the FO3 shortcut, under the compatability tab, check the option to disable Desktop composition.

I found this helped stopped almost all crashes.

I cant seem to find that tab. But my game is the GOTY edition on Steam.

Does this look like the Fellout mod is working? Just been looking at some screenshots and this doesn't look that different from the vanilla sky :confused:.

Got a feeling the Fellout installation might be causing the problems.
