Fallout 3 - My name is G-MAN

I blew his brains out so that they landed all over his daughter! :p She didn't seem too shocked about it though.

Have just completed the main story in fallout 3 and was really surprised
that you can't carry on exploring the map after that?!. I tried the different
endings but it doesn't make any difference. So I ended up having to load a
saved game from before the last mission. Am I missing something here??

brilliant title change! :D

i killed him btw

and yeah, once you complete the game you can no longer explore, so just reload a near complete save and go from there, that's what i did :)

Seems crazy that you can't carry on playing after completing the main missions, anyway
does anyone know if the same thing applies to fable2?

Read between the lines. ;)

How many people are going to want to restart a 50+ hour game just for a few extra missions?

i didn't say they would, i'm just saying that all DLC doesn't have to be tagged on to the end of existing content.

this game is incredibly replayable, chances are the people who liked it enough to buy extra stuff for it would be the people willing to replay it ;)

Infact I'd say most DLC isn't tagged onto the end, but certainly in an open world game the most obvious answer is to insert the extra content into the already existing world. Closing that world off does create a problem in that respect, although I'd expect a suitable solution will be found anyway.

Most likely they would, but there's also a chance of alienating a certain percantage of the audience that may have been interested, just not at the expense of having to play the whole game over again.

Just as an aside, is there a specific reason (without giving spoilers) why the world is closed off? The main reason I can think of is that it's a story driven design choice, doesn't make a whole lot of sense otherwise.

Just found a bug to get easy xp. A big bear type thing was rushing me so I put down a landmine at my feet, we both died, pressed start to load a save (just before I spotted the bear), the game loaded and still gave me the XP for the kill!

the ending seemed pretty final...

That's what i thought!

Im not surprised the first bit of DLC is set in Anchorage, Alaska. As there's quite a few references to it throughout Fallout 3. The 2nd peice of DLC is set in Pittsburg. Reading between the lines of the 3rd installment, sounds like it's back to the Wastelands.

Can't wait! Oh, and yes. I battered him! :D

I don't think you play as the vault dweller for two of the three expansions. The final one raises the cap, so I guess you get to keep the same character.

MAJOR SPOILER!!!!
I guess they'll assume you allowed the Brotherhood of Steel person to take one for the team or somehow you survived the incident, Dirty Den style.

If i recall correctly... if you kill the overseer when you first escape, upon your return, the only way you can avoid from being locked out / not seeing the people in the vault again is to sabotage the vault and then lie successfully to amata. After this all the vault residents leave and you can occasionally bump into them randomly throughout the world, i've mainly just found bodies though :(...

At the begining i killed butchs mum as she was screaming a lot, then i killed butch and then all the guards and pretty much everyone in my way, i killed the women in the house robbed everything and everyone in the school got stabbed up as well :D

Makes it a lot funner killing people most of them start hitting you in the first place anyway.
