Fallout 3 Question (Possible Spoilers)

Hey all,

I've already completed Fallout 3 once before, but I rushed through it and didn't spend enough time exploring etc.

Now I've played it again, and this time around I have the DLC activated...

I forget what happens at the end - Do the credits roll and that's the end of the game? Or are you able to continue?

I ask because, I was unsure whether I should be playing the DLC first or am I able to play the main game (Thus levelling up as well) and then play the DLC?

Be wary of mentioning spoilers incase someone in here hasn't finished it yet

Iirc, Broken steel starts after the credits, all the other DLC can be approached at any time you have free access to the areas they start in.

You have all the DLC, so that must include Broken Steel, which lets you play on past the "end".

What happens if you sacrifice yourself at the end?

I let Fawkes do it on my play-through so I survived n work up in the base.

You can still play Broken Steel even if you sacrifice yourself.

I can't remember now, don't quote me but you 'might' still die if you sacrifice yourself, though I vaguely remember that you wake up in the infirmary so I'm probably wrong.

Either way send Fawkes in to be on the safe side

Point Lookout is definitely a DLC you should hold off on till you're reasonably well geared up. Enemies can be lethal. Some of the others, just do them any time really. Operation Anchorage has some nice gear and the power armoured suit for anyone planning on using it.

If you are going to play FO3 again and you don't get an overhaul mod you are crazy. I got bored of FO3 and then I restarted with FCOM mod and my god the game was so good, had a fair few other mods too.

I've already got half way through the game and just recently realised that there were loads of mods for it

Where is the best place to grab them? May as well add them

Then you'll probably be disappointed. Its a pretty dull linear shooter that REALLY doesn't fit with the game at all. Some nice moments but for the most part it gets really repetitive.

FWE is a great mod. Just check the nexus.

True, I disliked Zeta and another one... can't remember which...

The only one that I enjoyed is Broken Steel.

Probably Anchorage. Only reason to play it is the gear and perk you get at the end. Its just the game telling you what to do and how to do it rather than you doing what you want.

Yeah it's rather stupid, seeing as open-world what you like gameplay is what made the game awesome in the first place!
