Fallout 4 Crossfire

You have two AMD cards and you expect them to work together in a game!!!! ROFL
I thought everything knew crossfire was just for looks.

I've more than 100 games in my library, I can give you the games that don't work with crossfire on 1 hand. Just constant bashing amd because it's cool to that's all. Haters gonna hate, but while they do I'll quite happily game at 1440p, maximum eye candy and hit 100fps plus on every game with a freesync screen.....life is grand here with an AMD setup.

Not being cool just reading my old t-shirt, CF and AAA games is just a no go. At least for the first 6 months of a games life anyway.

They must be all mainstream games. I have a few sim/niche games installed and only three (in red) work with CF and or SLI.

FSX
Cliffs of Dover
DCS
Arma 3
rFactor2
RoF
BoS
Assetto Corsa

Half the reason why I switched from 5850 Xfire to GTX480 SLI (my last radeon setup) was the poor xfire support on Skyrim. Took ages for a driver to appear, at first it was for the 6xxx cards only, then 5xxx was supported and in the next driver 5xxx Xfire support was removed again. After that and the fluffed drivers for Rage and BF3 I had my fill.

With Fallout 4 being such a big title there should be xfire driver for at least the 2xx/3xx and Fury cards.

Yeah, AMD get there, eventually.

We're talking about games that don't work with crossfire on release. Which unfortunately, as of last year and early this year was quite common.

Sadly me and Born_2_kill_83 have experience here, having been owners of the 295x2 GPU's.

Trying to game at 4k when you can only use 1 GPU is painful.

I get ya, just think a lot of the AMD bashing is blown out of proportion. I hear you regarding brand new games, can be a PITA sometimes but luckily for me, the games I've been most nterested in and got on release have worked with crossfire out the box. There are games which get crossfire late, but that's fine, games often take a few months of patches to became somewhat properly playable even on one card these days lmao. By that time a crossfire profile unleashes new life into a game, that's the reason I dont really buy to many games on release these days. I'm happy to wait a month or two for patches, fixes and price drops before jumping on them.

I'll be playing Fallout on Tuesday though without fail, I'm sure it'll be fine even on 1 390 if there is no crossfire support.

Ah boy, I hope Fallout 4 works with CrossFire fine as I want to play it 4K everything maxed out. That will be hard with a single card to achieve I think. But could be possible depending on how sensitive to fps the game is. Some games play fine between 20-30fps.

Don't let us down AMD!

I remember AMD release a proper CF profile earlier than Nvidia title Shadow of Modor, it just really depends on game to game.

Xfire works for me on a new game(well within a day or two max) in most titles. There has been a single period this year in which drivers weren't coming out monthly, over the past 4-5 years there have been frequent drivers and not surprisingly complaints about how AMD suck because they need loads of new drivers rather than ones that just work. Then when they became spread further apart the bashers changed their tune immediately to complain about the exact opposite.

Still, TW3, maybe the biggest title of the year, Gameworks, in single card which is what 99% of Nvidia and AMD gpu usage for gaming, AMD had that title from day one, Nvidia required multiple drivers to get it stable for their own users despite it being one of their own titles.

Nvidia has problems with single card(and sli too obviously) stability in WAY more games on launch than AMD has issues with xfire and that has been the state of things for donkeys years now.

AMD, small percentage of users, like extremely small have trouble with xfire but can still play the game fine on single card. Extremely large percentage comparatively of Nvidia single and sli users experience problems far more frequently and as often on Nvidia sponsored games.... but AMD has the driver issue. Laughable really.

So when are we going to see 80fps+ in TW3 totally maxed out @2160p on an AMD setup.:D

Having said that there have been far too many NVidia drivers lately. Still at least they have not blown anyones cards up lately.:D
