Fallout 4 thread

Newcomers prefer Fallout 3 to NV, whereas people who have played the originals usually prefer NV from what I've gathered.

I preferred 3 to NV, but the humour in NV was superb.

Both have their strengths, but nothing will compare to that feeling of vault emergence and finding Megaton for the first time for me.

That's a tad harsh, it gave me a chuckle anyway.

What didnt you like about NV? I felt it had more of a 'fallout feel' than 3 (though both are good games).

The story done it for me with 3, The fact it was from a familial perspective, instead of with NV, you're a job title...

The introduction in 3 was definitely better than the first of the series. Especially 1 and 2, where you literally had to fight out of a dungeon full of rats (1) and ants (2), even back in the late nineties that was already a cliché. :p
Tactics had quite a good introduction, where you had to fight through a captured tribal town and save them from a group of raiders. New Vegas would have been the best imo, because the introuction began really well, but the whole thing with Goodsprings kind of took away from it. Benny should have been the boss of the introduction or something, because the whole casino thing... very anti-climatic.

It'll come out on PS3 and 360 in 2015? I don't think so.

Indeed, would seem like they would use an update engine or something new for the next gen consoles, as a retextured Skyrim will be scoffed at in 2015, with the kind of high calibre games shown at E3.

Either way though more stuff for PC :D

Super Mutant: 'Tally ho, just gawna have a ickle' munch on ya noggin' if ye don't mind that too much me good sir.'

American protagonist: '**** off ya tea sucking limey!'

Super Mutant: 'Jolly good then, cheerio!' *skips off to enjoy tea and crumpets in the corner* 'Oh gawsh, me teeth fell out, that's nary much good now is it, what's me gawna do nar.'

Quest accepted: Get Basil the Super Mutant new teeth.

While searching the ruins of one of London's many false tooth establishments, you are accosted by a group of Ghouls.

'Oi blud, we are bare gonna shank ya if ya don't give us ya crumpets!'

*player unholsters the only gun in Britain*

'Allow it man, we aint got no beef innit was a joke! Safe yeah!'

*Ghouls drop their pen knives and BB guns and flee the scene, running past an awkward corpse of a Royal Guard still standing with his rifle*

The player finds new teeth for Basil, and delivers them to him promptly.

****ing hell.

Literally the least funny, cringeyist post on the internet. Gratz.

This.

That was horrible and you should be ashamed of yourself Omaeka.

I had no idea this was in development :D Very good news :) Looks like we have a long wait ahead of us... but I don't mind them taking their time if they're going to produce another quality game :)

I was pointing out that games like this never work in England. :o Clearly mocking England doesn't work in England either. Still, it's relevant though, we are still stuck in the 1600s according to the rest of the world and I don't doubt that an American company would portray us along those lines. Take out guns and replace bottle caps with crumpets or shillings, candlelight, victorian housing, tophats and the like. :D

I would like a more open world in a large proper europeon city, not vast amount of nothing. Every building can be entered etc etc.

Of course they will make another. I loved fallout 3, lovely game to play for the sandy box rather than just the main quest. Same goes for skyrim. I had some of the most memorable gaming moments in the last years crawling through DC. New Vegas did not appeal to me as it was far to wild west for my liking.
