Fallout Vegas still only single player

If like me you loved Fallout 3 and spent many hours roaming the wastes and are looking forward to Vegas even if it is just more of the same with slightly tweaked menus and a hard core eat food mode.

But one thing thats really a missed opportunity is the fact that its still just single player, you have AI companions again but I feel that a co-op 2 player mode would just be the icing on the cake for a game like Fallout, with some effort sure they could get VATS to work well with co-op etc.

I'm sure FOV will be a day one purchase for me and i'll enjoy it i'm sure but wheres the 2 player co-op

Fallout Online (MMO) is already in production.

I think it would be extremely difficult to implement 2-player into the current engine. Especially with VATS, it just wouldn't work unless they had a type of "Live VATS" or something where the screen doesn't freeze but still gives you percentages 'on the fly'.

I loved playing fallout when it was new but recently got the GOTY edition with all the DLC and tried to play through the DLC but it is horrible to control, feels so clunky, I hope they improve it for vegas

I fail to see the need for every game to have some form of online and/or multi-player capability. Some games just work better as single player, Fallout 3 being one of them.

Did it really need co-op? No, not in my opinion. Will Vegas be lacking due its lack of co-op or multi-player? I very much doubt it, I'm just grateful they didn't try and shoe horn something in just to be fashionable.

On another note, I hope that this doesn't turn out to have the feel of a large expansion pack. I have high hopes for it and it'll be a nice birthday present.

As long as it's a HUGE expansion pack wouldn't be that bothered tbh

I don't think it needs multiplayer, at all.

The Fallout MMO will probably be good but it'll be totally different to Fallout 3. Fallout 3 wouldn't work with multiplayer imo.

What I love about fallout is the atmosphere and the environment. Adding coop wouldn't hurt but it certainly not what I would be looking for in this game as a dealbreaker.

I said the same with oblivion, after playing too many MMOs i get bored playing single player RPGs.
That said Fallout was still brilliant but I can see the appeal of coop.

Games are fun with your freinds and i've yet to find a good console RPG coop game.

Agreed borderlands was very good and i enjoyed both play throughs (got abit bored near the end second time). Unfortunatly all my freinds traded it before the DLC came out and im not buying it to play with randoms so its sat on the shelf back in the UK now.

More of a FPS than a RPG though, no stats as such only loot and the class tree.

I think oblivion or fallout would make a great coop game but VATS wouldnt work in coop really and VATS makes fallout what it is (at least partly)

really looking forward to using the melee attacks in vats if they have upgraded it in this game. damn there so much good stuff coming up in the next few months i dont think im going to be able to afford it all..
