Family Sharing Q

Is it normal behaviour in family sharing that -

Person 1 owns App A / Movie B
Person 2 if browsing the store will not see they can just download App A / Movie B but rather must go into the purchases section and check what is available through family sharing?

Hope what I'm asking makes sense as my googling ability for this issue has been poor

I don't know about movies but when it comes to apps, if I look at an app that someone in my family has already downloaded, I get the cloud icon with the arrow rather than the GET button.

Mine hasn't worked for ages.

I'll buy films and have purchase sharing enabled yet family members never get access to them?

Just want to confirm you’re sure about this as it’s ******* me off lol, videos I’ve seen showing off family sharing also seem to have to deal with it how I do.

I.e only viewable as purchased by going to the purchased list and then the family members purchased. (And if you view the item in the store you see the price rather than redownload cloud button)

I’ve just double checked. My daughter downloaded the Kik app. When I search for it in the store, I get the cloud icon with the arrow to download. If I search for an app which none of my family members have initially downloaded, the button to download it is the ‘get’ button.
