I've just built my new pc and I can't figure out how to connect the fans. I have a DS3 mobo and PC-7 Plus case, there are 2 case fans... but only 1 system fan port, what do I do??? I connected one fan to the mobo which works fine and the otehr strait to the psu which is on constantly lol I have a Corsair 520W PSU if that helps.

so one fan is connected to the motherboard via the 3pin connector? and another is connected to the PSU via a molex connector (4pin) ? What's up?

Do you want to be able to control the one connected via molex? If so, you'll need a fan controller. If you want to silence it permanently you can perform a 7 volt mod on it - http://www.cpemma.co.uk/7volt.html

The fan connected to the PSU will probably seem very loud as oppesed to the fan connected to the motherboard...Is that what your worried about?...

Like said above, you can always perform a 7v / 5v mod to quieten the fan, just make sure you do it right thats all i can say ;)

Or alternatively...does the fan connected to the psu have a 3 pin connector or not? Cause you could always purchase a fan controller for the two fans to be hooked up so you can controll the speeds of both of them.

OR :P You could just buy a splitter....

Depends what you ideally want :)

Thanks for all the input guys, i eventually decided to change the fan connected to the PSU and am waiting for this fan to arrive. I can then run it at full speed without worrying about the sound... well thats the plan anyway :D

i had a simular problem accept it was a ds4 board

both case fans had 4 pin molex connectors i was going to use the y-splitter that comes with the corsair but ive just stuck them on a power cable with 3 connectors (so power goes to my dvd-rom and then 2 case fans )
