Hey guys I'm setting up a loop in my new pc and need a fan Controller for my fans I have a Phobya PWM 8×4 pins splitter from back the days would that work for 5 fans? And what free software is the best to Control them in windows10?

There aren't much free fan control softwares.
Mostly you're stuck with crappy bloatware from mobo makers.
Also such splitters won't allow any invididual controlling, but just copies same control signal for all fans.

For controller Aqua Computer stuff is superior running control in their own hardware and need software only for reporting software temperature readings if you want to use them as basis for control.
Aqua Computer QUADRO PWM Fan Controller= £35.99
Aqua Computer OCTO Fan Controller for PWM 8 Fans= £49.99
If you use splitter/y-cables to connect same work doing fans (like intake fans) in parallel, four channels can be enough.

Thx Esa t I don't want to control the fans individually but all of them together so I guess the fan controller I got will be good? And for the software I have a Asus Mobo should I use there software or can you suggest any free software heard of speed fan and hwmonitor?

SpeedFan is often cited as one of the better softwares to use. Certainly I'd choose that over anything Asus offer, and there are many reports of odd things happening, various things breaking or getting corrupted, or computers just misbehaving, all as a result of Asus software ******* about with your system. Asus BIOS settings are basic and limited, but would work well enough wth what you have.

However, the best IMO is still the OCTO or QUADRO from AquaComputer. It's just so versatile and will let you do things you wouldn't even think of doing.
If you want it simple, you can just set Fan 1 to behave however you like and then have all the other fans copy Fan 1. That's essentially what I do... or you can create complicated profiles based off various system datas and behaviours, and everything in between. I never thought I'd get into half the stuff Aquasuite can do, but once I got it and started looking I was proper impressed.

Give the Asus fan software a try. Then if it doesn't push all your buttons upgrade.

As ttaskmaster said, AquaComputer controllers are without a doubt the best on the market. I know of one guy (using aquaro 5 LT) has it set to start his morning coffee. Both OCTO and QUADRO use included aquasuite software at no additional cost. Comes with 1 year licence for updates, so if you get it might want to update software before licence expires. ;)
Only problem is they are out of stock on OcUK right now. :(

You can control outputs in any way you want in AquaComputer's stuff.
Individual control for every output with possible very different behaviour based on different data sources.
Or single control for all outputs, or at most with output modifier per channel like some channel.

You can also also calculate average from different temperatures like both CPU and GPU from software to use as control source.
Or add physical sensor measuring air temperature in case into mix.
You can also have different profiles, like quieter profile for web browsing/media playback and higher cooling profile or gaming.

There's no need to update instantly.
Once license is activated, both that date and expiration date are recorded.
And for as long as you're using that device, you'll get the last version released in that validity time freely, when ever you install AquaSuite again.
(unless adding newer/having device with inactivated license, or buying new "update" license)

I do like the Aquasuite software very much but after 2 borked Octo's I am sticking with the Aquaero 6 XT for now- has 4 fan channels but easily run a lot more of them

Did not know expired licence could be used to dl last release before it expired after expiration.
Got bit of information
Thanks!

As some have already said here in this thread. Avoid the Aquacomputer Octo, the Quadro is OK, but the Octo you should avoid. As it suffers from update issues far more than the Quadro.
