Fan controllers

Plotting some water-cooling for my rig but can't decide on a fan controller. Looking at this:

Because this one is out of stock:

Is the former a worthy substitute?

Look for the Scythe Kaze-Server (think thats what its called)

Those you've linked to will shut a fan off but supply a min of 3.7v whilst the Kaze-Server will supply 0v.

Its not sold at OcUK anymore but is pretty much the same as the first one you've linked to.

Don't quite understand why thats an advantage, power-saving aside.

But thanks for reply; but since i'm getting my water-cooling gear from here may as well get the controller also.

There was thread about it and from what I remember if the fans aren't running then 0v is best.

Also, the Kaze-server has 3 different modes, manual, semi auto and auto, much more options for only a few quid more. Not sure why OcUK stopped selling them actually...
