Are these actually any good? I finished my new build a few weeks ago and I just noticed that it's getting rather dusty, especially around the fans. I've given it a clean up but was wondering if anybody uses them and whether they're worth using?
Also how often they need cleaning?

Been wondering the same things for the same reasons. The general consensus seems to be that they work, but reduce airflow, and dust gets in anyway. My temps are really low, so I'm gonna put two filters (compensated for with two fans giving positive pressure) in my currently empty case slots to keep dust out and keep airflow going well. If you're struggling with high temps and already have fans on the go everywhere, then perhaps not a good idea. Could always mess about with positive/negative pressure to see if that makes a difference (I noticed the empty slots have dust on the grates which suggests negative pressure is drawing dust in, for instance).

Use women's leg tights, cut them down and then put them over the fan.

They work quite well.

Fortunately my case has filters for all the intake fans, but on my old case I used to use tights and they worked very well, and cost me nothing!
