fan for socket A processor

Can anyone help me, I need a decent Quiet fan and heatsink for my socket A 3200+ barton and im finding it hard to get one, i have one currently but its like a jet taking off, can anyone recommend any to me? thanks.

What heatsink? Might be better to get a new hsf combo.

Does your mb have holes around the cpu? What kind of budget do you have? Will you be overclocking it at all?

Budget shouldnt be an issue, no the motherboard doesnt have holes, its a socket A so it have a hook at either end and yes it will be over clocked to 2.4ghz

Look into the Gigabyte rocket cooler.
Bare with me as i had the older version.
Anyways it's a great cooler that comes with a controller to knock the fan down when desktopping. Between around 2k and 4k, when at 2k you can't hear it.
Fitting was a doddle and can be done with the mobo still in the case.
i had one fitted to a 3200xp clocked to 2.4

I had the same problem. Went for the Gigabyte G-Power. Can't fault it, got a 2500+ at 3200+ with <55 load, much less when it's in a cool room (airflow is poor).

The Gigabyte G-Power Pro is a very good cooler. I had mine cooling my socket A 3200, and it did a very good job at keeping that cool, and is now sitting on top of my clocked 3700sd and that idles at 32'c. I only have mine set on the slowest speed as it works just as well set there and has the added bonus of being quiet. They are still available if you have a look about, but make sure you get the Pro version as that comes with the fan controller, the normal G-power doesnt.

im seeing prices of £30 or so but there all saying athlon 64, this is just the older athlon 3200+ barton. can anyone recommend a site, i know you may not be alloud to put link on but i would like help please, thanks.

For a start I'm seeing prices of around £16 inc vat for this cooler so look harder

, although I payed over £35 for mine about a year ago!!
