fan help !

hi i have a NZXT 820 case

looking to get 2 NF-F12 3000rpm for my H100i to push and leave my 2 corsair SP120 to Pull on top of the radiator( is this a good choice?) or should i swap them to 140mm for the pull

the exhaust fan i have a loud corsair fan and also a loud fan on the interior of the case,

i also have 2 AF 140s at the bottom the case but doesn't seem to bring much air up personally


just thinking should i get some NF-p14s put 1 in the exhaust and 2 at the bottom

and get a NF-f12 3000 rpm for the interior of the case ( pushes air onto the graphic cards and out the case currently i have 2 970s


any thoughts people ?

Those Industrials will be LOUD on full chat, but very good!

You're pushing 7.6mm/H2O into 3.1mm/H2O... In other words, a very powerful fan pushing into something with less than half that same power.
I'd say NO, that's not a good choice. The SPs will be forced to spin faster than they should, while the backpressure from the air building up will cause a compression stall on the Noctuas. Technically, this could break the fans on either or even both sides.
Better to have the same fans both sides, although I really don't think you need Push and Pull with an H100i. The Noctuas will be more than capable by themselves.

If a rad is designed for 120mm fans, then a 140mm will likely overlap. You then won't get a good seal and be drawing more air in along the path of least resistance, ie through the overlaps rather than through the rad.
In short, you'll be wasting power and airflow instead of using it for cooling.

Swap exhaust for a high airflow fan. Swap interior fan for something better - Static Pressure if there's a restriction on one side (such as HDD cages), or higher airflow if it's open.

AFs are kinda naff, nowadays, compared to other fans. The Noctua NF-A14 Industrials shift an *insane* amount of air.

P14s are not much better than the AF140s.
If you want to stay with Corsair, the ML140s are rather reasonable. EK Vardars are also pretty decent, perhaps slightly better if you get the F5s.

Otherwise, look for Noctua NF-A14s. Remember the Industrial versions will be louder, as well as higher performing, but you can always turn them down a touch

great input went with 4x noctuna in the end and what a difference it was ! only issue i have is there is a metal piece going across the H100 Rad and so it makes a suction noise :'( rip lol it is strange why they made the case this way to be honest

the noctua NF-p14s i got was extremely good to and amazing airflow ! a lot of difference now my rad had so much dust in haha also

What metal piece is that? Is that the brace between the two fan mounts on the case?
You can possibly dremel that out, although I assume they designed the case that way for a reason...

Yes, you won't get anything but noise and crap performance if your rad is full of dust.
