Fan PSU setup

Does my main back fan need to be connected directly to PSU. The reason I ask is because my PSU supplies a main connection with a splitter which says "fan only".

or can I just plug my back fan into fan header on mobo?

Fan header on the mobo should suffice.

if you wanna monitor the fan, then plug it into the mobo, if not then it might aswell plug diretly into the psu..
