Hi,

I have a little question concerning air flow

On my Eisbaer LT, i've added 3 fans on the top of the radiator for push pull, do you think it's usefull or not, I can decide. Since the rad is quite thin i'm not sure of it... and of course it makes the all thing louder.

The fans are all Silent Wings 3

Motherboard: Asus Maximus Hero X
Processor: i7 8700k delid @4.8Ghz all cores
GPU : GTX 1080 TI EVGA FTW3
Ram : 32GB G.SKILL Trident Z RGB / 3466Mhz
PSU: Corsair RMI 850 GOLD
Watercooling : Eisbaer LT 360

Here is are my fan setup which i'm not sure is optimized

How thick is the rad? I would have thought with 3 silent wing 3s they would have enough static pressure to comfortably move the heat.

I guess the important question is how are your temps, do you feel you need push pull?

If the only thing you are noticing is more noise than it seems you have answered your own question .. that is unless you like more noise.

With 2x 140mm intakes I would not use a rear exhaust because the 3x 120mm fans move about the same amount of air as the 2x 140mm intakes will .. assuming they are good fans. Adding more exhaust will only cause case to need more intake airflow resulting in more dust beng drawn into case though any hole/vent air is leaking in through to make up the difference you have between filtered intake and what your 4x exhaust fans are pulling out of case.

So what do you suggest about the fan setup? Remove the rear exhaust or reverse it to intake?

About the fans for the rad, i have Silent wings 3 but i was told it's not the best option, i was looking the noiseblocker eloop but.. can't find black one and white fan it's a no go :D

I would unplug rear fan and see what temps do. Could you put fan in front and have 3x 140mm intakes? With your 3x fanned GPU 3x fnas is probably enough intake, but if you could put one more above the 2 you have in front it would be even better. Remove all PCIe back slot covers to increase rear venting around GPU for better front to back airflow around GPU and most of the heat out of GPU will move back and out instead of up to radiator. You could lower fan speed and noise with same or more total airflow to move heat coming off of GPU back and out of case.

Keep in mind airflow is like water flow. Any air we put into the case has to leave the case, so with good fans like Silent Wings 3 they can easily push air into case and have it flow through and out without exhaust fans. Think of case as a cooler or radiator. Having fans push/pull usually doesn't make much if any difference .. assuming fans are good and Silent Wings 3 are good. Same applies to cases .. if we have good intake fans we don't need more fans pulling air out.

Silent Wings 3 fans are very good. I would use them before I would use eLoops.

Nope, i dont have any more space on the front

OK i just turned off back fan and i'll see - i have a rheobus so it's easy

For the fan i saw that :

Noctua NF-F12 industrialPPC-2000 PWM
Static Pressure 3.94 mmH2O

Corsair ML120 PRO Premium Magnetic Levitation
Static Pressure 4.2

Silent wings 3
Static Pressure : 3.37

So yeah they seem very good i don't have to change it i suppose.

you mean remove those grills?

Static pressure is only part of the equation .. not to mention that spec is the maximum pressure the fan can push into a sealed container at full speed. . Fan speed and noise level are equally as important. Fan size also plays a part .. even fan cfm plays a part but not as much.

In my experiences 120mm fans and 140mm fans making about 1.5mm H2O at about 1300-1500rpm are good for our uses. 120mm fans have to spin faster to make the same airflow a 140mm fans, but for you that doesn't matter. I don't want to listen to the fan noise when they are running much faster than 1100-1300rpm anyway.

If you want to spend money and get different fans please drop me a message when you replace your Silent Wings 3 fans. I would love to get and test them. ;)[/QUOTE]
