when running 2x 120mm fans off my h50 would it be best to use a fan splitter to put them both onto the same mobo 3pin or should i keep one seperate and control that myself?

not sure which is the best bet

ive got plenty of fan controllers spare

Up to you. I generally prefer to have as many fans as possible controlled by the motherboard so that they will spin up automatically when needed.

just 2 concerns tho

if its split does it mean the fans will be sharing the power ie running slower and secondly i thought that with push pull they were meant to be 2 matched fans at the same speed?

can anyone shed light on that please

No they wont be running slower. I assume they are run in parallel rather than serial. I dont know how many fans it is safe to run off a single header though. I would worry about having more than 2. Might blow the header... any one know?

I have never heard that push/pull had to be at the same speed. Dont see why that would be. Although having one fan switched off might impede the flow of air slightly. But if they do then the best option would be to run them off the same header since they will then always have the same voltage flowing into them.

ok got a problemo, i want the fans to be controlled manually but they are small 4pin connections not 3pin, what do i need to make them into 1 3pin from a splitter?

the fans should run at the same speed, and ideally be the same brand. If one fan is pulling hard and the pusher is pushing slow, its just impacting the performance. Its common sense.

Hi Alex, am I right in thinking you want to run the two 4 pin fans off the CPU header?

If so, then to do that you need a 'pwm splitter'. OcUK don't sell them afaik, but you can get them pretty cheaply from other sources for a few squids.

I hope I've read your op right.

perfect mate, thats great thank you vmuch again :D

Could someone tell me what I would need to buy to run push/pull from one 4pin header on my motherboard in sync together. (My other 4pin header is in use from my system fans). Thanks.
