Personally, I think the 1000 posts requirement is about right. It rewards loyalty and those who keep the forums active and interesting. There are, of course, exceptions to the rule but lower post requirements do more harm than good in my opinion.

If I had MM access I'm sure it would encourage me to upgrade more, as it is all my old parts just sit in a box doing nothing.
