Loads of BSODs, Boot Failures, Other Problems... HELP ME! (More problems today)

Right, so I'm on my relatively new custom built PC that I built about 5 months ago. Originally, when I built it, the HDD was DoA, and was replaced. Whilst it was being replaced, I installed Windows 7 on a different HDD. Then, some time later, I started to have boot issues with Windows not booting after the Starting Windows screen, and telling me when I rebooted that "Windows failed to start".

After reinstalling Windows on my HDD that had been replaced, it was fine for a bit, but then started acting up again with the same symptoms. I decided, with some advice from the OcUK forum, to flash my BIOS to the latest version/beta version. This worked for a short period of time, and after about 2 weeks of no problems, it started again.

I was very distraught by this point, trying to find a solution. It happened on and off until recently, when other issues have started to pop up.

I thought the issue had resolved itself. No problems for almost a month. Everything fine. Then I booted my PC one day, and the fans didn't spin up. The CPU cooler was fine, but the other fans just didn't spin up. After rebooting, same thing. I headed into the BIOS, and checked the fans, finding the setting on "Normal". I also checked my case, and both sliders were set to "High". The only way I could get my fans to come on was to set them to "Full Speed" in the BIOS. This was very loud and obnoxious. Also, to note: With all my fans off, on idle I have low temps, nothing that would cause temperature-related problems.

Then came the BSODs. Another boot failure. Over the past 2 weeks I've had no boot problems, for some reason, but oh so many BSODs.

BSODs sometimes on bootup, just after the "Welcome" screen. It's flashed up, sometimes "crash dumped" or "memory dumped" before instantly rebooting my machine. I've had BSODs every time I try to do a Full Scan with Microsoft Security Essentials. I've had BSODs when I try to Shut Down, flashing up a "Missing Driver" or memory-something. I don't really have time to see as it flashes up then instantly reboots my machine.

To top it off, I've had Windows Update problems, with updates freezing at making a restore point, updates freezing the Windows Update window then freezing my PC when I try to Shut Down.

I've tried resetting my BIOS to original settings to fix the fan issue, but it didn't work.

I've run a Windows Memory Diagnostic and it said everything is fine.

I've run a virus scan with Malwarebytes in Safe Mode, to find nothing.

The only things I have left to do now are check my RAM sticks one at a time for problems, or reinstall Windows completely on my current HDD or on another one to try and fix either Driver or whatever issues I can.

I'm really stressed right now, and I feel like my PC is about to completely die on me. This was my birthday present and I don't want to waste £700 and much hard work.

Please can someone help me before my PC just dies.

Update:

Tested both RAM sticks individually, both times booted up fine. Also, ran a Windows Memory Diagnostic on both individually, results came out fine.

Need help to fix this problem!

Alright, I've stopped it from rebooting on BSOD. I'll have a look at what it says if/when it BSODs again.

What could possibly not be getting enough voltage? And I agree, the fan issue is puzzling me too. I've set the fan speed to "Full Speed" in the BIOS, it seems to be the only setting that gets them to spin - and I've set the slider on my case to "low", so now the fans are at a reasonable speed without being ridiculously loud. A workaround, but I really would like a fix.

I'm thinking about reinstalling Windows on another HDD I have. Do you think that that might help in any way?

More problems today. (This is the second time I'm writing this out, due to a BSOD halfway through the first time)

Just got home, booted up PC to find that it stopped on the "Starting Windows" screen. Logo still moving, not booting. After rebooting my machine, I was greeted with a "Windows failed to start" message. I proceeded and it booted into Windows fine. (Note: I've already tried a System Restore, with no change.)

After getting into Windows, I headed here to write out what had happened. A Windows Update message popped up to say "New Updates Available", and I headed into Windows Update. After checking the available updates, I set;

Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems
and
Definition Update for Microsoft Security Essentials - KB2310138 (Definition 1.163.1146.0)

to download and install. Halfway through the installation, and me writing this, the system locked up for about a second, then a BlueScreen appeared. I noted down what came up:

STOP: 0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF880011BD4D0, 0xFFFFF880039C88D8, 0xFFFFF880039C8130)

volsnap.sys - Address FFFFF880011BD4DO base at FFFFF880011A6000, Datestamp 4cc792c8

Then it crashdumped.

After rebooting, I got into Windows, and as always, was greeted with "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown", and got the information box, as show below:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 2057

BCP4: FFFFF880039C8130
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0

Then, finally, I checked Windows Update to find that both updates had not been installed, and when I click Shut down, "Updates are ready to be installed".

This is getting really bad now, and I'm finding it really difficult to actually use my PC for anything. Can someone please help? I'm thinking a fresh install of Windows on my other HDD might fix the problem.

7e is ram related error

theres lots of issues atm with crucial memory and gigabyte z87,if I were you I would rma the ram/exchange it for another brand, pref one on gigabytes memory qvl list

could try latest beta bios, see if that's any better?

So you think it's a compatibility issue then? You would have thought that a recently released mobo would be compatible with most big brands of RAM...

My Dad has some extra RAM in his PC that he could probably take out for me to try. I'll post again when I try it.

if its ddr3 ram then it should work ok

they cant test for every make/model of ram,it will get fixed eventually with bios updates but atm its causing issues

The RAM I'm using currently is DDR3. Do you think the problem could be driver related in any way?

Also, where did you find that Beta BIOS? On the official page, the newest is F5.

I mean ur dads ram, aslong as its ddr3 it should work in your board

I doubt its driver, could be but id look at the memory first esp being crucial/gigabyte

He has 6 x 2GB, I believe. Yes, 6 sticks of RAM. Also, if it turns out that the RAM compatibility is the issue, I assume it would be possible for the RAM I have to be used in my Dad's PC?

might work but he'll only run dual channel or be one stick short

3 sticks=tri channel found on x58 boards (will also support dual channel)

I've had compatibility issues with RAM in two AMD builds I done for work. I had all sorts of problems from BSODs, glitchy/crashing graphics, Windows updates not working etc etc.
After phoning OCUK they suggested I swapped the Crucial RAM for Patriot. I did, and all problems went away.

Just a thought, possibly a faulty mobo? I can't think what else could cause you issues with the fans. Assuming they are connected to the mobo?

Yeah, recently I've heard a lot of stuff about Crucial RAM and Gigabyte boards and their compatibility issues. I assume the AMD builds you did both had Gigabyte boards and Crucial RAM?

Anyway, with regard to the mobo - yes, the fans are connected to the mobo. I think the fan speed thing has to do with my temperatures. I think that because I have such low temperatures, the BIOS is deciding not to turn on any fans. Manually enabling the fans in the BIOS made them go again, so it's a work around I guess. I don't think the mobo is faulty, or I hope it isn't. Would be a pain to replace.

I've had a look at the RAM my Dad has, and he has some Corsair RAM. Haven't tried it yet, but I'm hoping it should fix the problems.

Yes, you are correct. Both builds were identical, Gigabyte boards and Crucial RAM. Had problems with both machines.

My Gigabyte board used to turn my CPU fans off until I stressed the system and they started up. I wanted maximum cooling, so changed the setting in the BIOS

2 BSODs today. Yep, 2. Both on startup.

Got in, booted up my machine. Got past the "Welcome" screen, and on to the Desktop. Steam started to update, then I got a BSOD.

MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

STOP: 0x0000001A (0x0000000000001236, 0xFFFFFA800AD2C830, 0xFFFFFA800AD2C878, 0x0000000C0015AFC4)

Then it crashdumped.

I sighed at this, and rebooted the machine. Got past the "Welcome" screen, once again, and got into the Desktop. Didn't BSOD right away, and I got the "Windows has recovered from an unexpected error" message. As I was copying it, I BSOD'd again.

STOP: 0x00000024 (0x00000000001904FB, 0xFFFFF880058F15E8, 0xFFFFF880058F0E40, 0xFFFFF880016CCE51)

Then it crashdumped.

Here's the log when I finally rebooted and it didn't BSOD.

These are different BSODs than I got yesterday, so is anything different? Still haven't changed the RAM yet, doing that on Friday I think. Just concerned about NTFS.sys - what does it mean?

Okay, just got another BSOD whilst watching a YouTube video. Rebooted the computer once since last post with no BSOD, now got a BSOD whilst watching a YouTube video. Here are the details:

These BSODs are getting worse and worse, and I can't even use my PC normally now. Is it still memory compatibility issues, or is something else going on here as well?
