Just wonder what everyone thinks to this as it seems a constant occurance in Italy when English teams play in Europe (although I've not heard anything from Spurs match at the San Siro last night).

I'm not here to bash just Italian fans as we've other reports from various countries of things like this and racist abuse but makes you wonder what would UEFA do if it happened in England every year?

I mentioned it in the Banter thread. How many incidents of stabbings and general hooliganism can Italian football be involved in before action is taken?

Actually, UEFA are about to put us on a suspended sentence for the collective absurdity of our police in getting Serbian fans off the streets by letting them freely into the Marassi without safety checks. It would be activated by what's happened in Naples today and frankly, I'm so fed up of the shortcuts throughout Italian football that I'm starting to think we need it to help us understand what responsibility is and get with the times.

Naples: not the friendliest of cities and ripe with mafia types, young and old. That's not a generalisation or stereotype, its the truth.

When T*rkey is as bad as it is and nothing gets done it comes as no surprise to me.

Have you read or watched Gomorrah about the Neopolitan crime syndicate the Camorra?

Obviously you won't agree but Turkey's record doesn't come close to that of Italy, especially over the last 5-6 years.

It seems that more often than not, when an English side plays in Italy there are problems.

It's got to be said yes other countries do have parts where it is rough, but we still have problems when our fans go abroad. Irrespective of whether for the international team or a domestic side.

I seldom hear a similar proportion of fans from other countries getting into trouble when they move about.

Though as said in the other thread. Unless you're in the North of Italy, it's a very fascist and slightly backward place. Naples is notorious for mafia guff, even Rome has its Ultras.

They'll get a slap on the wrist. A fine and will have to play a couple of games behind closed doors.

This is a regular thing with Italian clubs and Uefa haven't got the ******** to do anything.

The place can be very safe but you really do have to know where you can and cannot go. Your average day tripper fan or tourist won't have that information. Personally I wouldn’t be out and about at midnight in many places, it’s just looking for trouble.

Read my post and then consider amending yours. Its that sort of lack of knowledge which gets on my goat.

Same here - no matter where I went if it was football related.

No I won't amend mine. I've lost count of the amount of times English (and others too) sides have gone to Italy and supporters have been stabbed. This is at least the 3rd time it's happened in recent years to Liverpool alone.

You've been given a suspended sentence, so what? It's done nothing. Until Italy are thrown out of European football nothing will change and I seriously doubt you'll get thrown out.

You clearly NEED to read my post again as the suspended sentence will become active in the next few days - stated in the post you've failed to understand at least once, possibly twice. That in itself means you need to pay more attention before typing drivel.

You've lost count of the number of times English fans "(and others)" have gone to Italy and been stabbed? What the ****? Since when exactly have fans from any other country had problems? Well? The Serbians came with a plan, following their riots in Belgrade, to take out Stojkovic after sending him repeated death threats and frankly to cause all manner of issues due to Serbia's inclination to become part of the EU - something the Serbians who rioted clearly do not want to happen.

If its always English fans have you ever thought they're to blame for it? How many stabbings? Oh wait you lost count, conveniently. Third time to Liverpool - their fans perhaps? No can't be, they're English and free of all blame.

Partizan fans killed a Toulouse fan not long ago. Partizan-Red Star matches are notorious bloodbaths. But Italy is clearly worse as there have been lots of problems with fans from lots of countries and so many stabbings you've lost count. Right. Waiting on names of countries (other than England) and clubs (that aren't English) - won't hold my breath though.

Get a clue.

..utter BS...

You admit your self that you've not even been put on the suspended sentence (despite years of trouble) yet you're now saying categorically that it will be activated after this? :o

I hope so but I can't see it happening. Below is a quick list of incidents involving Italian clubs with nothing more than a fine and games being played behind closed doors:

April 2001 - Liverpool fans stabbed on away trip to Italy
December 2001 - Liverpool fans stabbed on away trip to Italy
March 2006 - Boro fans stabbed on away trip to Italy
April 2007 - Utd fans stabbed on away trip to Italy
December 2007 - Utd fans stabbed on away trip to Italy
March 2009 - Arsenal fans stabbed on away trip to Italy
May 2009 - Utd fans stabbed at CL final in Italy

Off the top of my head there was the big incident involving Roma where the ref was left with his head split open during crowd trouble in a CL game (Italian fans of course) and the domestic game where the police ended up shooting a fan dead.

And then today; gangs of Ultra's roaming the street attacking anybody English; including a family of tourists (2 kids and a woman) and a restaurant owner who tried to protect them.

I said not English teams - any more personal insults and you get suspended . If English fans are always getting in trouble in Italy is it solely Italy's fault? No.

I suppose you think Juventus were guilty in 1985 as well.

You quote my post as "utter BS" yet you're the one who can't read for ****, can't make a valid point (clubs from lots of countries - yet only English ones named...always innocent though the English. Always. Always someone else's fault) and can't respond to posts properly. Well done.
