I have 2 120mm case fans which are plugged straight into my motherboard

(DFI Lanparty UT Ultra D)

They spin when i first turn my pc on but when my pc starts to load windows both the case fans stop spinning , any ideas why?

stab in the dark: do you have anything like cool n quiet running in the BIOS, my Asus P5B supports it, fans speed up turn on when the system gets warmer/more demand from processor etc

not sure about the DFI boards tbh

its not cool n quiet its just the fan is set to turn off at a certain speed. i cant remember when the option is but its to do with temps and fan speed.

download or install ITE Smart Guardian amd go to the fan options and edit them in there.. but i seriously wouldnt worry about it unless ** temps are suffering..

they are on seperate headers yes? not jury rigged to run off one fan header?

There is a bit in the Ultra D BIOS that controls how fans spin at certain speeds. You have probably got the minimum temps set too high. I'd have a look at mine and tell you where it is but I can't be arsed to reboot.. :p

yes there both run of seperate headers :P

I'll go have a proper look when i reboot in a bit :)

Thanks guys
