Fans?

When I first started watercooling, everyone used Yate Loons. No matter what you were doing 9/10 they were the best fans and EVERYONE used them.

Now, everyone uses random fans I've never heard of. I'm not sure what rad I'm going to use but I'm pretty set on a quiet computer. At the moment I use 1650 yate loons with a swifty MCR220.

I'm thinking of adding a XSPC 480 rad but now I have no idea what fans to use. I'm open to a different radiator too, I just went with this one based on a friends reccomendation.
 
I'm trying to avoid using a fan controller though as I'm going to employ a slick front panel with just a single slit for a discrete optical drive.

I don't really want anything louder than my current yates. I'll look into the gentle typhoons 1850rpms. They're still quicker than my current fans rpm wise though...
 
I have a controller, a sunbeam one with 4 channels, already. I just don't want to have the knobs sticking out the front as I'm thinking of making a clean frontplate.

Yeah, that's why I posted this in watercooling now overclocking and cool. A lot of people who don't watercool don't realise the importance of static pressure.

I'll take a look at the scythe gentle typhoons and see if I can find some reviews on them. I guess I could always mount my sunbeam controller in reverse on the inside or build a bracket for it or something.
 
Wow, some of these fans are expensive. I think I might end up sticking with yates. I can't see myself spending £100 on fans when I could get away with £20.
