Fantasy F1 2011, with league.

Hey,

I'm in :D quick Q about the £40m strategy (too lazy to read the FAQ). Does your overall dynamic team value rise/fall as the driver's values change, or do you always have £40m to spend in total?

Cheers,

Su

Last year it did, yes. So if you spent £40m and one of your drivers values rose £1m and you sold all your drivers, you'd have £41m to spend on new ones.

Who won last year's ocuk fantasty F1?

My friend Byker Dave who is not even an OcUK member =/

Hmm ok, but surely this is a massive disadvantage. So you pick drivers A and B who do poorly, so the whole value of your team drops. So you either don't have enough money to buy driver C, or you have to sacrifice more drivers to buy him??

Yay! Time to recreate team go-go-fast and build on my good position in the ocuk leage after last season :)

Shame the overall driver values are a little wrong this time round (or the grid is too close to call) as getting in 2 or 3 of the best drivers on the grid isnt too hard...

Yup; that's the issue I had with the system last season.

If you start losing ground to the leaders, there's very little you can do to catch up, as you're buying into the same three or four front-runners that the league leaders have... and the only way to do that is to sell 2 under-performers to get 1 front-runner.

So you may pull away from those around you, but you're not particularly gaining on the league leaders.

The problem is exacerbated by having such a small pool to choose from, unlike, say, Fantasy Football.

Still, having the ability to swap out a driver that gets injured or loses his seat is potentially quite valuable too. Hmm...
