Fantasy Football 08/09

Clichy - If they get clean sheets they all share the honour. However Clichy gets more assists due to his crosses, the only snag is that Gallas gets a goal here and there from set plays and corners when he goes up to head the ball. But his record of getting a goal from corners is not that good, way behind Laursen and Lescott in comparison.

Robinho predominately plays on the left hand side or behind the striker. I imagine Shaun will be alright. I believe its an issue if you have either Elano or Petrov in your team. One of them might have to drop out to embed robinho into the team. He might decide to go with all of them, I'm not entirely sure anyway.

As for the Clichy v Gallas. I would probably go with Clichy. Clichy hasnt scored and probably won't score this season (okay may be 1/2). He got 5/6 assists last year and that number should be around the same sort of amount. I can imagine him getting the odd bonus point too although you could say the same about Gallas.

Probably deciding on his starting value :P I'll estimate it at around.... 10m? Probably more actually but he isn't surrounded by superstars so I wont be expecting the 14m value of Ronaldo anyway

Still 2 international games before the league kicks off again so plenty of time I imagine for him to be added.

It's almost live, SWP was 7.5 mil on saturday, then after the 2 goals on Sunday it went up to 7.6. Obviously a lot of people have bought him in and the price went up. I suspect there is a algorithm in the game that tracks all transfer and when there is enough buy/sell it'll trigger the price automatically as it seems to move around anytime in the week.

I was talking to a friend about his value. I reckon around 10.5m mark should be about right.

Yep. They move up and down all the time depending on recent performances. I don't know exactly how selling a player with this in mind goes though. Example:

You buy a player for 5m
That 5m performs well and goes up in value to 5.5m
You want to swap that player for a 5m valued player

Should you get the 0.5m value back or not? I heard someone say you get half of the improved value but that wouldn't work otherwise we'd be left with smaller values i.e. 0.25m
 
Well really you should get back the full improved value.

I hope so. Bought Berbatov for 9.2m. Now since moving to Man Utd, hes at 9.3m. Maybe if he scores against Liverpool, an increase to 9.5m could happen. Then if I was to sell, I would want the full 9.5m for him.

How do player values change?

After the season starts player values may change by 0.1 a day based on activity in the transfer market. Both the formula used to calculate this change and the time of the change include variable factors and won't be revealed to game players.

I'm only receiving the amount I paid for a player, not their current value minus the sell-on fee?

The price shown on the transfers page is a players current value minus any sell-on fee. To check what price you paid for a player use the data view on the transfers page.

The net profit is usually half way from the improved amount, so make sure you want to trade in someone thats has gone up loads as after you sell him but want to bring him back later you might not be able to. For example if a player gets injuried and out for 2 weeks, sometimes its better to take the hit and put him on the bench than trade him in for someone else, when he comes back yo might not be able to afford him again.
 
Yay for fantasy!

Torres is going to play against the mancs and gerrard will start on the bench for anyone with them in their teams.

Not sure who to put captain this week. There's not many stand out fixtures. Stoke v Everton may be but I only have 1 everton defender
 
Took defoe out for ashton who was also made captain, then has to go off. Was expecting the hammers to steamroll WBA, but this is footy !!!!!!!

Check out my starfish bandits, and do the exact opposite to what I do :D
