Fantasy Football 09/10

My team atm:

Gomes

Lescott-Ferdinand-Sagna-Bosingwa
Milner-Fellaini-Elano
Carew-Torres-Bendtner

Subs: Begovic, Dawson, Mullins, S Petrov
You might want to consider dropping Ferdinand for Evra; you'll save 0.5 and still get the clean-sheet bonus as a defender, but with a somewhat increased chance for assists or even goals given that he's a wing-back.

Bold = Fail.

Tottenham concede a silly amount of goals and there are other keepers who stop a lot more shots.
Fellani doesn't really do much in terms of getting you points and gets a silly amount of yellow cards
Bender rarely starts and your sub striker is poo as well

I really should stop giving advise...

You musn't have watched much of Gomes towards the end of the season then. He was outstanding. And conceding just 8 goals at home, with 5 of those coming in the first few games of the season says it all.

Conceded the least amount of goals at home last yr. This year could be different for them with Harry there.

FF doesn't take into account if you let in less goals when playing at home or not.

Gomes had a fantastic end to the season and is a great keeper imo but there are many better choices in terms of points.

Just joined the league hopefully will get a decent finish in the league because last year with my friends I sort of forgot about it until the last few weeks

Indeed Skippi, I think the spuds back 5 might make some of the best buys this year. A fit Woodgate at 5 mil. They will improve on last year, and he's sure to play most games if he's fit.

OP, may as well sort out a head-to-head league too?

I've just had a look into this and created a Head to Head league limited to 38 players and what I believe to be 2 knockout rounds, which I think means everyone who joins will play everyone twice - it's all a bit confusing

Just now need to think up of a fair way of people joining... what do you think post the code here and make it first come first served? Or get people to register their interest and send the code to their trust? Any ideas people?

Joined.

Team name: Galacticos

Finished about 30th last season. Team as follows (so far)...

GK: Green

Df: Evra
Df: Hangeland
Df: Davies
Df: Bramble

Md: Gerrard
Md: Arshavin

Md: Neville (will probably change as all his points came from defence last season)

Fw: Owen (take a risk)
Fw: Agbonlahor

Why put defensive midfielders in your team?

They will get you 3 points at most

2 for playing and 1 for clean sheet. I know Neville took some set-peices last year but that was only due to the loss of Arteta through injury.

Yeah i agree, dont be persuaded by his points total last year.

Screw it, My team (Not finished probably):

GK: J Jaaskelainen

Def: G Cahill
Def: M Upson
Def: J Terry (c)
Def: G Clichy

Mid: S Pienaar
Mid: D Kuyt
Mid: J Collision
Mid: T Walcott

Str: W Rooney
Str: F Torres

Subs:
GK: J Hart
Def: Hangeland
Mid: B Mendy (lol)
Str: Iwelumo

My team is based around a variety of predictions:

1. Bolton will have a good year, hence GK and Cahill.
2. Pienaar looked good in that confederations cup team, should have a good season.
3. Collison was nice and cheap and could emerge at west ham.
4. Not sure about Kuyt yet hmmm.
5. Team was built around a strong strikeforce.

(Btw, i take this kind of thing way to seriously :D)
