FAO - Chefs!

"Have you always wondered why your homemade pizza or re-heated supermarket pizza never tastes like the real thing?"

You know, I always have. I was about to start a thread about it.

"It's because the 'real thing' always gets cooked on a flat stone surface inside the pizza oven."

Aaaah....

Are they pants? My brother showed me these, but I didn't go ahead as I have a knife set that cost £160 and surely they can't compete...
Try and balance them on a finger, where the blade meets the handle. You want them to balance perfectly.

There's been various threads on HOTUKDEALS about this. Some saying good and bad reports.

Some say:
1. Duplicate payments have been taken out and that a 'courier' will be picking them up - to be continued
2. The website where it takes for credit card payment is not secured.
3. There are leads to believe your going to provide your personal details for spamathons.

I wouldn't really go for them.

Unless you live in Ireland I'd giv it a miss - in the terms and conditions:

"This agreement is governed by Irish law"

All of our multi million pound Managed Service agreements with UK public and private sector orgs are goverened by Irish law (we're an Irish company), they don't seem to mind.

Just had my knives delivered this morning and they seem fine, in fact they seem a hell of a lot better than the knives we got as a present that came in some rubbish block...they probably cost about £25

They feel comfy and look of decent quality, and will be used instead of the Wusthof utility knife for those jobs where i dont want to trash a good one.

No, they're rubbish.

As a home user, they rust after a few weeks and stay sharp for a rubbish amount of time.
Also tips have a habit of breaking.

I showed them to a Michelle starred chef friend, and a 3 AA rosette chef friend, and they both laughed. One told me a story of a new chef that recently brought those knives into work (as chefs have their own knives), and they've bullied him ever since.

and since very few users of these particular knives are going to be either "michelle" starred chefs or for that matter 3 AA rosette winning chefs i am sure they are perfectly fine for the lay person. :D

Please do excuse my appalling grasp of English. That one was shocking!

As I said, as the average home user, I've found them to rust very easily, chip and lose their sharpness quickly. Very cheap I know, but maybe spend a bit more rather than replace the set every 6 months!

That's the industry - have you not seen Gordon Ramsay!?
