Mercedes Sprinter is the fastest vehicle in the world TBH. It has taken over from the Astramax.

Sprinters are awesome things, especially when driving in central london, arm out the window, then just drive at anyone and everyone lets you in and never bats an eyelid :p

Eidolon - i was only kidding, one of my friends has a 52 plate one and although it wouldnt suit me, i will not deny that for what it is, its awesome :) I would genuinely put the CTR as one of the fastest cars cross country lanes for a newer driver, i dont think i could drive much else as fast as i easily managed in a CTR - very flattering to the driver.

That's ok mate, I knew you weren't serious :)

The CTR is a strange car, at first I wasn't overly impressed but the more you learn to drive it properly the better it gets. Once you've adjusted your driving style it becomes a car that you can keep on the boil quite easily and make good progress with (as Fox will no doubt find out!)

Sweet, I've been told by the boss that I need to take a load of carnival pieces to Herts Uni in an XLWB Sprinter  Carnival pieces will be a good description by the time I get them there.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the drive if you get a chance to really give it some, the noise it makes just forces you to grin ;)

I'm gonna be really disappointed if I can't make the RR day cos you've just gotta hear the noise the Elise makes with the carbon ITG filter and quicksilver exhaust!

id imagine id start making a mess on the floor :o

the s2000 had quite a nice rasp to it when you were giving it some, esp when you were going under bridges and the noise just echo'd everywhere :D

I'd be interested to see what Fox's views are.

A lot of people who have never driven a VTEC engine'd car think that you have to be doing 8000rpm all the time to even go anywhere.

Although to shift you do have to give it some welly and be in the right gear or you can be left behind initially.

When I tried to get a test drive they said that unless I was buying it (i.e. talking numbers there and then) they wouldn't let me take it out.

I have to admit that I may have taken 5 mile detours just so I could go through tunnels with the windows down.

When I first test drove the 111R I decided that I probably shouldn't buy one as I thought it would turn me into a very bad person when driving it. I was right.

I hate it when dealers say that. It's the stupidest thing ever. Surely, the whole point of a test drive is exactly that, a TEST, to help determine weather you actually want to buy it or not.

when I was trying to work out what to do I was totally honest, told them what id tested and was going to test aswell, and went from there, NEVER got any pressure at all, closest to pressure I got was the guy at renault offering me a 'freinds and family' discount to get me to sign there and then, was REALLY tempted as the 182 had been quite a nice drive, but in honesty, it kind of lacked I dunno.. soul?

I'll second that - heard one with that setup last month and it's absolutely amazing to think all that NOISE is coming for a four-pot! I'm really hoping to make it the the RR as well to take a butcher's at the 111r - I also hope I can get a new zorst fitted in time too to complement the induction kit I fitted last month. Can't decide on a Larini or a Milltek though - the Milltek is cheaper and sounds fantastic on my mates vx220 but the Larini is generally accepted to be the best sounding exhaust on the market. Decisions decisions... Anything will be better than the standard sewing machine exhuast thats on at the moment.

Did you hear it on the 111R? It sounds good up to 6000 but then it totally changes tone and sounds absolutely amazing.

I'm seeing a fun game coming on here...

Test drive your most hated/opposite car to your own! :D

we would all end up driving a 1.2 corsa with a massive bodykit and huge exhaust :D

Yeah there's a fella on base with a 111R. Went out for a spin last month. Ballistic on the 2nd cam. Felt noticably faster than the 1.8 K but then again that's not surprising given the extra 70 or so horses (although offset by the R's lardiness! ;))
