Agreed, sometimes.
I'm no advocate of buying in one shop just for the sake of it. I've certainly purchased kit elsewhere when and if its been necessary. But the shop here is pretty decent on the prices on average, and if you are buying a bunch of stuff (cpu, ram, mobo etc) in one go, I've shopped around and even if I can get all the exact parts I want elsewhere it usually works out either in their favour or within as few a quid as makes no difference.
The other thing I have noticed is often the places where in the past prices have been dramatically different, well all I can say is those places are no longer in business. Not the norm mind just an observation.
Mileage of course may vary, and I'd be the last to advise people not to get what they can for the best price available. I'm must be really rubbish at finding those elusive best deals, as soon as I hear of them they are out of stock, or something else currys the deal so that I end up coming back and buying from who I know.
e.g. I've been pricing up my next upgrade of G33i mobo, 2GB DDR 6400 a Q6600 and Zalman cooler, finding all the parts in one place, in stock and cheaper than here (inc of delivery) is proving difficult.
But thats just my experience, as I said mileage may vary.
Well I think this thread is at risk of degenerating and being closed so I'll just request it is closed before it gets out hand.
