When you pull apart every game as much as that you certainly wouldn't buy a £300 console on the strength of Forza being good.
Yet he had to follow the forza discusion around for atleast 3 or 4 threads to keep repeating what was wrong with it.
Not that I'm saying his points where wrong or right, it just struck me as being a tad odd for someone without a console in the first place and who wasnt buying one because in his opinion the game was wrong.

I get fed up of seeing the same old arguments week in week out.
Surely we can have a sticky that highlights the strengths and weaknesses of each console. I have seen some brilliant posts on this in the past and wish they had been used to make a sticky.
Sometimes you can tell within the first few posts that a thread will go downhill rapidly. I think if there was a mod presence this could be prevented. Just the presence of a knowledgeable and respected mod would prevent a lot of negative posts. Active moderation would remove any that are created.
Why can we not have 3-4 members with mod privileges for this forum only. To remove competitors, post "warnings" and to lock threads if necessary.
Jumpers Nokkon McDingle Gord DannyJo McMainiacman, wyrdo are all people that I think would be up to the task. There are probably more I just cant think of them off the top of my head.
What about setting up some underbosses

quite frankly, who cares. shockingly people have different opinions, people have different opinions even on whats arguing and whats debating nicely. theres too many people taking everything too seriously. surely talking about modded consoles in a thread about an OFFICIAL UPDATE from M$ with one of the MAIN reasons its released was to combat modded consoles. so its relevant, i could be wrong, i don't remember someone saying "yay my modded console still works", or anything of the kind, just mentioning the news, which it was.
maybe links to competitors don't require 4 people in a thread screaming out for a mod to look in, you can ignore it. 99% of the people on these forums can and will find every place that sells a product in the uk link or not. if you are on this forum and don't know about OCUK, well, ok, weird, there aren't many places that beat most of the prices on OCUK. again its their forum, if someone breaks the rules they are breaking the rules, if a mod wants to ban them, and or find and edit the link thats up to them, and OCUK. its got nothing to do with everyone else and we could really do without all the screaming for attention from the mods.
if you don't agree with a discussion in a thread, LEAVE IT. done, dusted, simple. once you've left the thread you aren't irritated by it anymore, and anyone that may have been irritated by you is not irritated. everything works more smoothly if that happens.

I guess I can see how it might come across that way. If I tell you the truth which is that I still don't personally think there is a single 'must have' game for the Xbox360 (that *I* would like) enough to warrant buying the console, then you probably wouldn't like it, and/or I'd open myself up to lots of 'omg troll there are loads of AAA games, it's the best console line up ever' etc. etc.dannyjo22 said:

I wouldn't mind you saying that at all. Its your money and your choice. Better than spending 300 then moaning there's nothing you like. I understand you POV I just didnt see why the need to dedicate so much time to Forza.
I personally think you will never buy into this gen. neither console will offer a smooth enough experience at HD with all the bells and whistles for you. I've come to accept a compromise. I think Codemasters are right the jump to HD has been more than these consoles can handle. Sadly.
Of course I understand that. Most of the threads I've been linked to were just fairly amateur debates/arguments about which console plays a game at its best. Those types of threads, whilst annoying for people who don't own the other console, are perfectly within the rules. For the record I own a Xbox 360 but I'm not fanatical about it at all. I last played on it about a month ago. I will be buying a PS3 as well nearer the end of the year when there are some games I want to play.

back to forza thread for example, there were numerous insults e.t.c thrown at each other, and just because there is no active moderation, it was ignored and the people got away with it.
Hopefully that will change now.
