The key with E36s is (in my eyes) to get the stance right on nice wheels with decent dish. Pull/roll the arches and run a bit of stretch for clearance.

Keep the bodywork clean. They are one of the few cars that can sometimes suit rubbing strips rather than having them smoothed off. The front end is quite 'architectural' if you get what I mean...

Supertouring style?

Slam on 18x7 multispoke or DTM-style rims, get the wheels tucked, cut, pull and roll the arches and fit a small rear wing.

thinking along the lines of 80mm drop wheels up inside the arches, M3 front bumper and rear spoiler stripped caged on Compomotive mo's 8x18's and as much weight removed as possible, Good thing is your average dents and dings just enhance the overall look :)
 
Would an 80mm drop actually work for a track car, you can make them too low you know ;)

Is my car low enough?

Question 1 - do you 'beach' on the camber in the middle of the road?

Answer 'yes' = "Your car is just low enough."

Answer 'no' = "Your car is not low enough."

Lol :), i just don't think something like an 80mm drop would work on a bumpy track, like the Nurburgring for example, you would bottom out all over the place!

It must get to a point that the car is so low anyways to go any lower would actually make for a worse handling car or not worth doing, unless you run on fully adjustable suspension.
