FAO Rotty/Watch enthusiasts

I don't know what automatics Feek has owned, but whenever I've gone into a watch shop and looked at a stopped automatic, a couple of shakes from the salesman has brought them back to life, same as my Planet Ocean.

They might run for a few seconds but that's far from being wound.

Have a look at Chris Heal or watches.co.uk

surely you should just take it back to where you bpught it from though

I am trying to find the most economical way to get it serviced to a good standard, where that will be i am not sure yet :) Thanks for the links.

Without meaning to sound at all off, that is just an electronic watch which will do what it says on the tin. There is no "good" or "bad" to be had on a watch like that :)

yes, its a peice of electronics rather than a watch in the true sense, if it's worth it to you then that's great

How often do watches need a service - the Omega site says 4-5 years, depending on use. So if I wore a watch most days, that'd be a good time bracket to use? Are there key signs which indicate a service would be a good idea (something could start appearing a couple of years in, for example)?

you can go longer than that, maybe 5-7 yrs 10+ for the co axials

tbh on a basic ETA / Valjoux based watch there is a case for not bothering until something goes wrong as this will almost certainly work out cheaper

So nothing extra can go wrong if you just leave the service until something goes wrong? As in, there won't be any problem that destroys the watch, that would have been picked up by a service? (Overly dramatic, maybe, but you see what I mean!)

possible but unlikely
