Noooooooo!

NOOOOOOOOOO!

:p

I've been expecting this since I turned off the PS3. My lowly iMac can only manage about 750ppd with the SMP client. :(

You're going to have a good few months to work up a lead. Although come Christmas time, I might treat myself to some new hardware. :D

So watch out! ;)

I do believe that Biffa will be getting some new beefy hardware pretty soon - though if he does pop back to SETI/Boinc you should be able to make up any lost ground then :D

Nice parp there Biffa

Soz about the speellink mystayque :p

I think I am punching slightly above my weight at the moment, fahmon reckons I'm pushing 3K+ potentially. Hopefully this should be justified when my bloody Q6600 actually gets delivered. (poisonous glances at citylink)

Its official, I've been Biff'd. :(

I considered turning the PS3 back on but it would only delay the inevitable. I've got a 1760er cooking at the moment so that may momentarily claw me back but overall the jig is up. Well done. :p

*mutters something about getting a quad*

Been too busy/tired to do anything with my machines this weekend, got the Quad up to 2.8 but think I need to reseat the cooler or get an intake fan on the X-Qpack :)

Plus my 4800+ is somehow reset the bios on itself so now crashes if I try and crunch on it.

So production is way down. In fact think I'm only crunching on the one machine at the moment. But ne-er fear I shall get back on my feet again tonight :)

Rich, sorry mate but leapfrogged you again. :)

Seems I have my full farm crunching again, although it seems that my mATX setup on the Q6600 isn't ideal, I'm testing it at 3.2Ghz and 1.41V at the moment but the weather is making it a bit toasty.

What I've seen is that it will Ortho fine for a few hours, but FAH will sometimes just sit there for three hours not moving to the next % done, then the client will say something like "Nothing done for 3 hours, terminating" or something like that.

Its only happened twice so far but that was at 3.0Ghz and stock volts. So what do I do? Up the voltage and clock it higher!!

Temps are not too bad compared to what people are getting in bigger better ventilated systems with bigger heatsinks, I'm hitting 70 degrees at 3.2Ghz under full load. But vdroop on these things is horrific. Not sure if its the PSU (400W) or the mobo but that could be affecting it.

So I've got a 500W Zalman and a Asus coming next week which I'll be testing to see if it makes any difference. Also 2x1GB 8500+ RAM so I can take the pressure off the 6400+ I've got and also rule out that 4 sticks of 512MB are worse than 2 sticks of 1GB

At the end of the day I'm being a bit silly really, this is my VMWare server box and I shouldn't really be messing about with it.. but hey.. where would be the fun in that? :)

I've got a 1523 cooking that might nudge me back, but not for long.

The new iMacs (should) come out next week so that may sway me either way on new hardware - either a new Mac or a new PC. :)

My Core Duo is starting to lag behind. ;)

I may as well give up the ghost. I'll see you in the future.

I have been terminated. For now.
