Far Cry 2 performance

Am running this at 1920x1200, all settings maxed, DX9 (DX10 causes stuttering and input lag), with v-sync and am getting between 45-60 FPS.

I'd have thought on my rig I'd be able to run this at a constant 60.

Does anyone have any ideas?

nVidia driver is 270.

Think I get about the same with my 570... if you had a higher monitor refresh rate the max framerate would probably hit way above 60. Do you know what your average frames are? DX10 shouldn't be causing stuttering though...

No stuttering in DX10 here, granted I only play at 1680x1050 but a single GTX470 gets mostly 80+fps (with the odd drop to 40s i.e. entering a new area) with all settings maxed and 4x AA.

It isn't exactly the most obvious stuttering in the world, but if you look for it you see it, but only in DX10. Have read about many people with this problem, all of whom opted to use DX9 instead.

But in DX9 I do get lower framerates. Odd.

Definitely no stuttering here, I do have problems with that audio on Windows 7 tho (center/speech channel missing), did fix it once but its not working any more :S not that I play it now anyhow.

Okay, I got rid of the stuttering by entering Gfx_maxfps 60 in the console. Shame you have to type it every time you play the game
