Far Cry 2

the reason they tend to not have destructable people is that censors would have a field day. they already banned or want to ban ragdoll physics in shooters in germany. if they had people that exploded when you hit them with a rocket to the chest im sure there would be many people who claim its 'too violent'

team fortress 2 should be excellent though, as people explode, and it looks very satisfactory as well

edit: im sure the reason why a game like farcry 2 or crysis doesnt have destructable people is because the gfx are pretty realistic, where as tf2 is a cartoony, more melow style of game, as opposed to a nitty gritty realistic game like fc2

Ever see soldier of fortune or red faction? It surely can't be becuase of violence? If you shoot someones leg with a shotgun you wouldn't expect it to still be attached, if you shot them with a rocket launcher you wouldn't expect them to fly about limp but otherwise unharmed. The game gives you an up close and personal view of pulling bullets from your own body with pliers, it wasn't subtle about it either, you hear flesh twisting and pulling as it comes out.

What about quake 4 where you experience the whole "my body is being completely ripped to shreds as i sit here watching helplessly" section? Those games are violent, destuctible enemies is just another form of realism. A game where the player has no choice but to sit there and watch a circular saw coming towards them and sit there enduring the screams and sounds of blood splattering whilst only being able to look around is violent, having something happen as a result of an explosion or impact is a form of realism.
