FAR CRY 2!

Welcome to the crapness that is Ubisoft :(

There's a ton o' games that I'd buy on Steam, if only they'd blimmin' let me!

Same with World Of Goo, wish I'd bought it straight away when I saw it :(

Digital downloads are killing PC game sales in shops. Unfortunately the average Joe can't really be arsed/dosen't have the internet capabilites/dosen't know how to download games which means if they can't buy PC games in the shops they'll buy a 360/ps3 instead which equals less quality PC games are more console ports :(

.Don't support digital download..

Anyways just buy it in shops and crack it tbh...

if you got it in the shops you would need to do that to as they are using that stupid securom program with it

personally i would have liked a steam release so i could have downloaded/installed multiple times

looks like another bioshock scenario now though

Rubbish, since I can buy on steam ( didn't have a paypal/clicknbuy acc.) I've bought more games than in the past 5 years combined. I can't be arsed to go to shops, buying on the internet is where it's at... Don't have bloody 20 mb internet for nowt... Downloading is faster & easier and requires less attention than going to a shop, going back, installing the game, putting in a cd every time to play it, etc...

not strictly true

pc games sales went up massivley when the charts started including downloaded content from services like d2d and steam

i know, but i dont understand why they would not let you download it outside the US?

i dont like disks - disks get scratched - steam doesnt! :D

Each to their own :) I like possessing the actual case, manual and DVD. I do use steam though to download some games though.

I think you just want your game quicker :D

Did you miss the large thread?

Quite happy this availability rant has it's own thread tbh... :p

I don’t really understand. I can see why people would rather have a box and DVD and stuff but I don’t understand the problem the other way around, I can see why people would prefer to buy it through steam, but if that isn’t an option is it so bad to have a DVD in a reasonably sized case? Its not like you have to trek to the shop, order online and a postman will pop it through your letter box on release day.

I've explained it before, it's easier and faster...

Yes you've said it yourself.
it through your letter box on release day

On steam it's available within an hour tops, even if it's 3 am :).

or much more expensive.

Take the new X3 Terran Conflict. I paid £10 less for a brand new delivered copy than it would cost on Steam.

Steam is always a lot cheaper on Valve games though.
Also on weekend deals...

But I agree some of their prices are ridiculous.

The downside about Digital Downloads over here is that the majority of our ISPs have some frankly ridiculous bandwidth caps. Sometimes, one game can easily go over your limit for the entire month.

Luckily I don't have that problem, but still I prefer to have a box, disc and a manual to flick through.

guess if your bandwidth is capped it would be best to go to the shop
