How many hours of gameplay do you expect to get from this then? I don't buy games much but really enjoyed Skyrim (or other open world games) got nearly 200hrs into Skyrim now and still have stuff to do, does FC3 come anywhere near that?

If you collect everything and do every little thing I'd say 60 hours or so,which is plenty for an FPS/RPG/Adventure hybrid.

New Driver from AMD today you need to translate the page.

AMD Announces Catalyst drivers with updates for Far Cry 3 - published on Monday
Far Cry 3 was released on 29 November and currently still struggling with numerous startup problems . For Nvidia cards, there is already a driver that is optimized for the game. Nvidia recently announced the GeForce 310.64 beta driver release, which the fps performance will be significantly increased. So frame rate increases, according to measurements of the manufacturer for a Geforce GTX 670 and a GTX 680 by about 30 percent, with a Geforce GTX 690 more (1080p, very high details with SSAO and 8x MSAA). Even AMD card users to be served in the coming days with a driver that is optimized for Far Cry third As we were told, a publication is planned for Monday. On our website we already have an extensive Far Cry 3 test for you.

ive put about 30 hours in to this game and im on chapter 6.. i spend most my time exploring..sneaking around doing takedowns searching for relics and trying to find the japanese war papers and radio masts...

I'm liking this game a lot... Skyrim with guns.

Ran like an absolute dog on my PC until I installed the latest Nvidia beta drivers. Even then it's really punishing it performance wise, moreso than BF3 on full Ultra @ 2560x1600. All 4 cores on my GPUs were going over 100% load and hovering around 65-70C.

Can't rebind keypad enter which is really annoying me though, had same problem with Deus Ex Human Revolution when it first came out. Hopefully that'll be resolved soon.

Anyone got the extra content lost expedition DVD version with 2 more missions to play?

Yep. Did the first mission yesterday. To be honest it's not really a mission. You enter a cave and have to run to the other end of it before it explodes with no explanation as to why, lol. Good fun, still.

I think I've given up with this game before I've even started it. Russian version worked, but was in.. well, Russian. Downloaded the English version and it crashes to desktop after the loading screen. I wouldn't mind downloading it again or whatever, but I'm on a slow connection and it took all bloody night.

Why not just buy the proper UK game? Trying to save a few quid then complaining. All that wasted time and effort.

Will also encourage developers to make better games too if we're not all trying to scam ourselves a copy on the cheap.

I assumed I could choose:
I guess it's just a massive coincidence that the Russian version is the one that was released by pirates, and that you "downloaded the English version"... from where? Ubisoft's website?

You can't blame the game/Ubisoft for quirks that might've been introduced by Uplay or CD key bypassing cracks really...

I was thinking the same thing and then coming on to a legit games forum and complaining about it

Did this solve AA problems? Gave up with trying to get AA to work properly, I can change setting from 2-8 doesn't change anything, force through nvidia inspector and it improves slightly but still many jaggies.

Have a look in the GamerProfile.xml file in C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 3. Edit it with Notepad and look in the second line

<SoundProfile MusicEnabled="1" MasterVolume="78" MicEnabled="1" IncomingVoiceEnabled="1" Language="english" />

Might help?

Edit: While I am at it, does anyone know if the in game camera actually saves images somewhere or is it just for use in game?

Can't say I've noticed jaggies myself. I'm using 310.64 (which I think is the latest?), haven't done anything with Nvidia Inspector - completely fresh install of the drivers. All 4 cores on my SLI setup are hitting 100% load so it's definitely working properly.

Will have another look tonight for you.
