Far Cry 3 Thread

Just run in to Vaas again ....sigh, another awesome scene ruined by MASH SPACEBAR TO WIN!:rolleyes: ....if you don't do it, it just reloads until you do it. Totally retarded

....and then you fall to the bottom of the cavern, and follow the yellow dot.

On a positive note, I have really enjoyed what I have played of it today, barring the QTEs of course

Can someone enlighten me on how to not die in
helicopter mission where i "save" my brother ? I get to the helo, take off, pass river and bridge and on the next pass over airfield i get annihilated. I see people shooting rockets at me but they are out of reach of machine gun, helo is not turned right, i cant shoot back...
So, i get face full of rockets and die in fiery blaze...

Tried fov adjustments, tried lowering difficulty - nothing helps...

It really does not look that great, poor textures in general, a cartoony look, poor water effects and so on, I was expecting more. Disappointed in the game visually, IMO crysis looks better, especially the vegetation, water and in game effects.

I kind of agree, but in some places I think it looks better than Crysis. As I said earlier(seems to just be me though:p) I think it looks absolutely stunning at sunrise and sunset, and in certain other lights...but in full daylight, I agree it looks a bit cartoony. can't say I have been disappointed with textures though tbh. And yeah, I was slightly disappointed with the water as well.

"Hunting"? What hunting? If you mean shooting something thats moving and looks like an animal, it's hardly "hunting" is it? It's not like you have to stalk it and take your time. It's just there and you shoot it. Pathetic.

Drive med packs to a checkpoint (moronic).

Race through some checkpoints to win some money, boring, seen it all before.

There's no satisfaction in exploring to find crates etc. as each crate contains the same old crap. There's nothing special to find.

You can't talk to anyone, there's no interaction

I can just imagine what we look like playing it, sat there transfixed, mouths wide open, eyes glazed over, not really sure why we're playing it. It's one of those games where you suddenly decide to stop playing and you're just left with this hollow feeling of "What did I just do? I just spent hours and I can't even remember what I did and I don't even think it was fun."

The whole thing is a chore, just like FC2 was, just like half the games that come out these days. It's just a load of banal tasks strung together very loosely around a weak story. There's no depth to the world at all, nothing. It's just a pretty landscape, there is literally nothing interesting about the game world other than the nice colours.

100% agreed... I thought this was a good game when I started it, but it is all those things mentioned above. It looks and feels cheap and nasty, and tries to be very adult, but actually comes across as something appealing to kiddies, who think shooting lots of animals is a great thing to do; all rather pathetic really.

I swapped my ACIII order for this, but having now got ACIII I realise I made a mistake, as it is by far more accomplished than this dross.

I agree, I feel bad for wasting an hour of my life in a game like this, it's just a shallow, reward-less experience. Well no more, from now on I'm only investing in games that offer an innovative gaming experience, with a challenge.

The hype and reviews sold this game, playing it leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
 
Ive officially given up with the multiplayer, crashes, lag, poor interface, not saving loadout changes, not connecting to games. Shame as the maps are fun and the gunplay is too.

All of an hour is obviously enough time to make that judgement in a vast game such as this. ;)
 
This is a very entertaining game.

I am particularly liking the booming gunfire and explosions.

It's no FO3 or RDR, but it makes for some very pleasant shooting people in the face action.

I give it 7.5 out of 10.
 
LOL, so many negative comments as usual, obviously they like utterly fantastic amazing totally free roaming games such as Call of duty :rolleyes:
never had so much fun once I got into it, chasing animals by the river to get their skin & a Crocodile beating me to it followed shortly after by a Tiger mauling me to death :p
Why such comments as 'what's the point of the treasure chests & looting bodies ?' it's to get stuff to sell to buy guns & ammo, sure you get free guns eventually by climbing the towers but they are far & wide.
 
This perfectly sums up my thoughts on this game-
An hour of very enjoyable play, which I was loving....and a pretty great scene(emerging from the pile of bodies) ruined by mash spacebar and 'hold mouse button' right in the middle of the ****ing screen. And then 'warning, leaving objective area' when I stray a few yards away from the exact path they want me to take.

Why do I even have to 'mash spacebar'? ...does he stay there for the rest of the game if I don't?

Don't you know,being critical and negative is the cool thing to do.It supposedly shows that you have you have a strong opinion,or something like that..... ;)

Err, pathetic and wrong!... why go out of my way to dislike something I paid good money for. I wanted to like this, and did for a time, but now see it for what it is, which is shallow, garish, childish, rubbish... utter donkey balls.

As usual anyone that dislikes a game is sited as a COD lover, which is so petty... personally I've not bought a COD game since no3... all the rest are trash too, just like FC3 :rolleyes:

Should have got the 360 version, which at least I could trade in.
