Far Cry 3

Anybody got any more first impressions on this?

I'm at work while my copy awaits me at home. Can't believe I pre-ordered after the disappointment that was FC2!
 
Looks good - I actually liked FC 2, had a lot of enjoyment from that, and reminded me of FC a bit - less the stupid monsters that is :p

Hmmmmm, only just got Hitman, still playing Assassin Creed 3.... think this'll have to wait.
 
I cant make mind up. Some times it looks great, other times it looks terrible.

Menu system isn't great either. Its certainly not a 10/10 game thats for sure :(
 
A bought it at launch and had ma doubts after playing Farcry 2 but this one seems more polished and the mission structure seems to flow nicely even if you go of on side quests it all adds to the story, a played the first Farcry on pc and lost months to it, this one seems to be following the same line for me, once you get past first hour of play it really starts to shine once weapons become available and then the fun really begins as you play your outpost take downs :) im really enjoying it and defo brings back the memories of the first game which to me is still a great game, am playing on Ps3 and it looks really good to me
 
has anyone used any uplay points yet? i used some points on the hand cannon (magnum with scope), which is now in game to buy, i will buy it at some point.

i also used points on a theme, which said it was downloading, but i cant find it on the dash?

I've been playing the singleplayer for hours now (been hunting to craft items mainly), still enjoying it i've only got about 6 towers online, so only a third? of the map explored so far!

I played some CO-OP last night, which was good. TDM is average, i did enjoy domination though, played that for quite a while. i still have the other two game modes to play.

I bought them all. The extra mission was a nice surprise! I had 240 points before I started from playing the Assassin's Creed games.
 
the theme is showing up now, not sure why it didnt before, i'm glad it didnt cost me MS points! back to the standard grey, haha
 
Anyone have trouble getting into a mutiplayer game as the other night i tried to get a game and sat there for 10 mins so gave up

Can play 4 player co-up which is good fun
 
this is getting some rave reviews , I remember playing the original and loved it , I didn't bother with far cry 2.

Is this like a free roam type game? , I cant remember the first being like that?

Its rather surprising as for me this game is exactly like FarCry 2 yet it is getting brilliant reviews from the press (I love all three games btw).

Its a brave game that has herb picking and animal hunting as its second mission in this Call of Duty era. Only thing I would have added is a bit more variation of the NPC's.

I think FC3 is the game that FC2 should have been.

The thing that ruined FC2 for me was the re-spawning check points and lack of fast travel. When coupled with the fact that most missions sent you from one side of the map to the other, it became extremely frustrating having to clear out the same check points over and over.

I adored the setting of the game, the graphics were lovely and the guns were great fun. But the game was broken by its own mechanics.

Yes free roam where you can do what you want or follow the main story, you can dip in and out and do side quests to earn extra money and xp
 
Is it possible to play Far cry 3 ps3 with another player (thesame console) without being online? On the back of the cd cover, I can see 1 player / 1~2 players, this is different from network player section which obviously allows more than 2 players

You can play the co-op game with a friend on the same console
 
really enjoying this so far... just sad how it now looks against the PC, fair play they have done a good job but this is probably the first time I have seen a need to bring the next gen towards us...

Games are starting to look dated!!
