Far cry 4 performance

I have been struggling to get this game to work smoothly it looks amazing, but sees to average low 40s fps (especially low in long draw distance) regardless of whether I am on high, v high or ultra. I am thinking this might be a CPU issue bottlenecking my GPU but not sure. Nvidia experiences optimisation thing says I can max the game but I think it just takes the GPU into account.

FC4 is a very unoptimised game, Ubi have done ti again.

Check the main thread, inside are some tips and changes you can make that may make it a more smooth experience.

its odd cause far cry 3 ran well and didnt look a lot worse

It's not odd it's Unisoft.

The latest titles haven't ran well on most PCs. Some people can play them with no issues. Mine was playable but in no way smooth.
