Apparently there's to be a movie of Far Cry!

Ralph Moeller is in it (the big git from best of the best 2)

Well it is a computer game tie in mate, what were you expecting? Doom was a complete pile of crap IMHO but I still watched it for S&G's and enjoyed it for what it was.

I thought Silent Hill was very good for a video game adaption - but game to film adaptions are generally bad, yes.

"Uwe Boll" is all that needs to be said.

His films make the Doom movie look like The Third Man or any other film masterpiece you can think of.

I thought I read that they were filming some of this in Canada to ease on the budget, Uwe Boll needs to realise that even though you've got the money and enjoy something you might have no talent, and this is what he is, if he enjoys it then fine but we don't want to see it.

I think this will fail regardless of who is directing it because the original game storyline is a bit pants anyway, lol.

The thing with Doom is that is that while the game storyline is fairly simplistic, it still has a lot of potential especially in the artistic and atmospheric sense. I'm thinking something along the lines of Event Horizon, but on a slightly more epic scale with a more Jacob's Ladder style ambience, including monsters that resemble the more traditional religious depictions of demons (like in the original doom games).

If done properly farcry could translate into a film quite well, however from past experiance I doubt this will be the case.

He effectively funds them himself through his own 'studio' or something I believe.

TBH Boll should quit the game movies and just go on with his comedy stuff. Apparently his Postal movie is hilarious and it actually got some good reviews lol.
