I played it again some time ago, I remembered the graphics were jaw dropping at the time but now they look ancient and crap.

Please use good AA ( higher normal aa levels and transparency aa) in the future, the jungle scene pics make looks worse than it does.

The graphics would still look good if they'd increase the bloody tiny draw distance.

Those shots can't be on max graphics though surely - I remember it looking far nicer than that!

Aside from his utter poor AA, it looks like it are....

Those images definitely don't make justice for its graphics.
And why the need for highest end graphics if same freedom of gameplay is still same?
Sure also Max Payne 2 is graphically aged but I don't think that makes it any worser game and compared to other known games of that time FarCry's freedom of movement in terrain is feature which will last.
I pretty much forgot whole Doom III because of FarCry and how many of you do remember much anything from Doom III... except inability of supercommando to tape one flashlight to gun/helmet?

"64bit" patch (in reality just check for 64 bit OS in installer) improved graphics and viewing distance so remember to install that.

It's possible to manually unpack graphics update files but there's also tool for that.

I remember it stuttering on my FX5900...
*Nostalgia trip*
While Radeon 9700 run game beautifully regardless of mediocre CPU.

Maybe there would be need for nostalgia forum for us "graybeards". :D

*Nostalgia trip*

I upgraded my GFX card from an FX 5900 to a 6800 Ultra and FarCry still auto detected my system as medium, that was with 1GB of Ram and an AMD Athlon 3000. It wasn't until I upgraded my CPU to an Athlon 64 that FarCry thought I had a worthy system.

Great game though, The Pier level was my favourite.

haha great game!! i remember getting this in 04. I was a poor student at the time but it ran very well @ 800x600 with medium on a intel celeron 1.8ghz (so bad) and a PCI Radeon 9250 128mb (that got me thro half life 2 the first time too :-D )

I guess this is a reply to my deleted post.

I will upload the pics to Imageschack tonight, my webspace is a mess as the ISP keeps changing settings and I can't figure out what part is public and what address it is :(
