THE best FPS shooter of recent years, the only game I have completed more than 5 times, not on different difficulty modes or for achievements or anything like that, but simply because it was so enjoyable.

Ah...I remember when I used to actually enjoy games, rather that play them because "I should"

I never completed this, mainly because I installed the wrong patch (1.5 I think), that meant the AI could see through walls..

Agreed, which is why I said "how I prefer to remember Farcry", the idea behind those shots was to 'try' and make Farcry look how you remember it in your minds eye.

It was such a great game... far better gameplay than Crysis methinks.
It didnt take itself so seriously too.
I loved the tounge-in-cheek plot, the cheesy voice acting, and the gameplay was just sheer awesome.

The graphics would still look good if they'd increase the bloody tiny draw distance.

after many hours of searching, i found the console command to increase the draw distance for vegetation, so you don't get the whole "AAAAGH! that sprite just turned into a bush!" effect.

put this in the console:
\e_vegetation_sprites_distance_ratio 30
\e_obj_lod_ratio 30

and everything will look great!
