Faraday Pouch or Similar Key Protection - Any Recommendations?

if you can actually find a open police station nip in and ask. my daughter got me 2 and herself 2 for nothing just by asking , they were promoting keeping keys safe.

I think we have a local community police station nearby, might pop in and ask if they got any freebies, thx for the heads up.

Every pouch I had failed overtime, I’d recommend one of the Faraday Boxes for that reason.

My Partners more modern key appears to stop transmitting signal when the key is left alone which I think is the way forward.

yup my "defender" has failed again - pretty much 6 months from when I had it replaced originally. Luckily they sent me 2, so I still have a working one, but going to grab a box/tin next time

I have had mine for over a year and it works great. I can go up to the car (Keyless Entry) with it in the pouch and it will not open. If i take the fob out then it will let me open the door. It was a pretty cheap set i got from ebay with a fob and a little pouch. I use the fob one for my external NVME drive and the pouch to put my keys in at night. The soft pouches/wallets just have a foil layer in them. After a bit of use they start to tear and get holes at the folds, then signal can escape.

there similar design to the ones the police gave us. daughter got 2 more a couple of months back, they had a promotion on local supermarket car park (crime prevention).
she doesnt like them lol large and red guess we will be getting upgrades soon

Problem is it’s still a pouch so it’s not if it will fail but when.

Cheap pouches off of amazon. Just test them every few weeks to see if they still work.. replace if (when) they fail.

Or stick them in the microwave at night

well the 2 we had for the focus still work 2 years on , we have a garage door opener on each one and they dont work even if almost completely out of the pouch.
daughter had one that stopped but found out she was only putting the handset in the first flap of the pouch....when i checked the lining that causes the cage only works on the rear pouch duh never mind she still got new ones

I do exactly the same. The one I got on Amazon came with a pouch and box, so just stick it in the pouch and then the box to be sure

My keys whilst in the house live in a little metal tin.

When I'm out and about it's simply in my pocket.

If someone wants the car they can take it, that's what insurance is for lol

I ended up buying a pair off the Rain Forest that had high purchase count and good ratings, quite cheap and they work OK.
