I've been playing it for about 3 hours so far and I'm pretty much bored of it already. It seems incredibly repetitive, the story is rubbish, the setting is boring, the AI is crap, the weapons feel weak, the controls don't feel right, cars drive like crap, the missions are generic and boring, the buddy system is poorly implemented, the random respawn is really annoying and there is nothing really new about it.

The graphics are very nice in places, though they are let down by the poor gore effects, a few low res textures that really shouldn't be there and the entire game looks rather bland. The only real good features are the fact that the crosshair is disabled by default and the HUD disappears when not in use. The map is a nice change too and I really loved the sound effects on that old weapons shop computer!

I voted "Ok". It reminds me of STALKER, which also promised so much yet gave so little. I wouldn't say it's a bad game, but it is not a patch on the original or Crysis. I'm quite disappointed really, I expected so much more.

What do I think of it,I don't know it wouldn't run.I tried everything I could think of so I took it back and got a refund.
Reading a lot of the comments on the forums,I did the right thing, but these guys who are complaining about how rubbish the game is have forgotten one thing, they paid for it and are stuck with it,no ammount of moaning will make it any better,so enjoy.

Thought it was rubbish last night...played a couple of hours this morning trying to get into it, and I'm enjoying it more.

the first 1 hour was boring as hell, but after you get used to it and start getting better guns, its fantastic. Its like an FPS oblivion with GTA side missions.

Only bad points atm is the respawning of enemyies and some strange AI in places. Overall the AI is pritty good, they attack you from all angles, but some times AI likes to do stupid things.

Fully agree with this. I've just gone back for a bash on Warhead, and I just cannot beleive anyone who rates FC2 over this. The ONLY thing it has going for it is the sheer size, which is in turn ruined by the obscenely poor driving and ludicrous amount of it.

It should have done what COD4 did, and that's have a stable no-fuss foundation, good movement, aiming etc, combine it with positively stella characters with GOOD voice acting. The need for earth shattering graphics wasn't needed.

It was never going to be able to beat Crysis in the graphics department, so why bother trying? Should have made Crysis's weaknesses it's strengths, and released a solid title more akin to a HUGE version of COD4, rather than a poorly attempted version of Crysis.

I'm rarely this vocal about games, but this one really is terrible IMO. Crytek 1, Ubisoft 0.

you both sum it up so well!

This game is total rubbish. It runs well for me but isnt no way near as good as Warhead, CoD4 and Half-life 2 (inc episodes).

Majorly dissapointed. Have took the game back and bought dead space instead.

Role on Fallout 3 hopefully that saves the winter months!

I do really like the graphics. I only played the demo of Crysis so obviously I can't compare totally, but I'd say I prefer the FC2 graphics so far. And I like the engine a lot - not a single crash so far and I play with everything maxed and 2xAA/4xAF and I average a steady 35fps.
