FarCry 3 Blood Dragon - Free!

So just because it is free I must forget about how I feel about Ubisoft in general/having to install an extra piece of software? Or just because it is free I am not allowed an opinion/say on the matter? Geez.

I am not a fan of Ubisoft in general, free game or not. But I would have grabbed it for free if it was on steam :)

You basically click on a uplay icon, click on the game in the library, and then play it in the same way you play any other game.

People used to get all whiney about steam years ago, now steam is somehow the greatest thing ever and people get so defensive over it. They actually feel like they are betraying Steam by playing a game through another bit of software.

Get over it dude. It makes zero difference.

Yeah i dont mind having a few seperate launchers, they seem to all have their seperate sales and offerings of free games which im always checking for.

So condescending....

You seem to one of those people who think because something is right in your mind, it must be the right way and everyone else must be weird for thinking differently. What is so hard to understand about the fact that I like all my games in one place? Why are you generalising in thinking I was once whiney about steam or I get defensive over it? This is my opinion and how I feel about it. If anything you should get over the fact that everyone thinks and feels differently. If it makes zero difference to you great, carry on, but don't mock and try and push your preferences on me ;)

You must have at least 10-20 apps on your phone yet your OCD can't handle 2-3 gaming apps on your 10 times faster PC? :)

Uplay (and Origin for that matter) are now fast, slick and they use little/no resources. In fact, they both load slightly faster than Steam for me.

I said "maybe" it is OCD. What I did say for a fact is it is a preference.

Wow you sure get defensive. Think about the logic here. All your games in one place? Like on your hard drive?

I enjoy the convenience of a list of games on one program myself, but I wouldn't "cut my nose off to spite my face" so to speak.

It's a mindset that means you don't get to play good games that come up free or cheap.

You might think it's condescending but the reality is it just makes sense.

Nah, just responding to your comment trying to explain my choice :)

I get your point and what you are saying. Generally speaking it makes sense. But in my case by the time a game is given for free usually if I had any interest in it I would have played it by then anyway. Like I got that Dirt 3 for free on steam the other day, chances are with the little time and amount of newer games I want to play I never will :(

End of the day for me the value the free games I would get from having UPlay installed does not outweigh my feelings for Ubisoft and having an extra client on my PC.
